1998
●1998年12月:邹家帆船俱乐部总经理王志敏将北京正在为申办2008年奥运会寻找海上运动场的信息汇报给青岛市政府和青岛市体委的领导,以一个老运动员的名义开始了承办奥帆赛的游说工作。
1999
●1999年4月30日,青岛市政府向国家体育总局上报了“关于承办2008年奥运会海上项目的请示”的报告。
●1999年7月15日,国家体育总局水上运动管理中心正式提出2008年奥运会帆船比赛放在青岛的建议。
●1999年10月18日,前国际帆联主席保尔·亨德森来青岛考察第39届OP帆船世界锦标赛赛场,同时对青岛举办奥帆赛的实力和条件进行了确认。
●1999年10月底:奥帆赛申办筹委会成立。
2000
●2000年7月24日,北京奥申委批准青岛为北京2008年奥运会帆船比赛候选城市,青岛市政府正式复函北京奥申委,同意共同申办2008年奥运会,正式成为北京的申奥伙伴。
●2000年11月15日,北京奥申委收到了由国际单项体育组织签发的28个奥运项目中的第一份帆船认证书,即国际帆联“确认青岛已经具备了提供帆船比赛各种必要设施的能力”。
2001
●2001年2月21日,青岛正式向国际奥委会评估考察团进行申奥陈述。
●2001年7月13日:北京获得第 29届夏季奥运会主办权,青岛因此获得奥运会帆船帆板项目的承办权。
●2001年7月21日,青岛市政府召开奥筹专题会议,确立了市长负总责,各位副市长参与的奥帆赛领导体制。
2002
●2002年2月20日至23日,国际帆联副主席大卫·凯利特和国际帆联秘书长阿维·桑得海姆来青岛进行了为期三天的实地考察活动。
●2002年7月6日—13日,青岛市举办“庆祝申奥成功一周年活动周”,共组织了17项文体活动。
2003
●2003年6月11日,第29届奥林匹克运动会组织委员会帆船委员会(青岛)成立。
●2003年9月19日,《第29届奥运会青岛国际帆船中心赛时规划》正式上报北京奥组委。
●2003年12月20日,国际奥委会终身名誉主席、前国际奥委会主席萨马兰奇抵达青岛,考察和指导青岛2008年奥运会帆船比赛筹备工作。
2004
●2004年6月30日,北海船厂全部搬迁完毕。
●2004年9月13日,“青岛号”大帆船首航日本下关送行仪式在青岛奥林匹克帆船中心举行。
●2004年9月21日晚6时,“奥运倒计时钟”启动仪式在汇泉广场举行。
●2004年5月15日,“帆船之都·青岛”徽标发布仪式在北京中华世纪坛举行。
2005
●2005年3月24日,澳大利亚著名画家查尔斯·比利奇的大型油画《大青岛》开笔仪式在青岛举行。
●2005年10月15日,国际奥委会主席罗格一行来青岛视察奥帆委和青岛奥林匹克中心,高度评价了奥帆赛的筹备工作。
●2005年12月28日,青岛奥林匹克帆船中心行政与比赛管理中心主体结构封顶,标志着青岛奥林匹克帆船中心场馆建设超额完成年度目标。
2006
●2006年4月3日至8日,青岛成功举办了2005—2006年克利伯环球帆船赛青岛站活动,这是青岛有史以来首次承接的世界级环球帆船赛。青岛航海运动员郭川成为参加克利伯环球帆船赛的首位中国人。
●2006年8月18日至31日,好运北京——2006青岛国际帆船赛在青岛奥林匹克帆船中心成功举行。
2007
●2007年8月1日,迎奥运倒计时一周年暨2007青岛国际帆船赛全市动员誓师大会举行。
●2007年8月9日至24日,好运北京——2007青岛国际帆船赛在青岛奥林匹克帆船中心成功举行。
2008
●2008年2月18日,参加2007-2008年克利伯环球帆船赛青岛赛段的10艘帆船全部抵达青岛。
●2008年4月21日,奥运赛工作运行团队进入场馆化,奥帆赛筹办进入赛时运行状态。
●2008年4月,青岛奥运分村正式投入试运行
●2008年5月8日至15日,2008青岛国际残疾人帆船赛在青岛奥林匹克帆船中心成功举行。
1998
● In December 1998, Wang Zhimin, General Manager of Zoujia Sailing Club,reported the information that Beijing was looking for a marina for its bid for the 2008 Olympic Games to leaders of Qingdao Municipal Government and Qingdao Municipal Sports Meet, thusstarting the lobby for hosting the Olympic Regatta in Qingdao as a senior athlete.
1999
● On April 30, 1999, the Qingdao Municipal Government sent a report to the General Administration of Sport of China concerning hosting the Marine Sports Program of the 2008 Olympic Games.
● On July 15, 1999, the Marine Sports Administration Center of the General Administration of Sport of China formally put forward a suggestion that the sailing competitions for the 2008 Olympic Games be held in Qingdao.
● On October 18, 1999, Paul Henderson, President of the International Sailing Federation, inspected the racing marina for the World 39th OP Sailboat Championships in Qingdao and confirmed Qingdaos power and conditions to host the Olympic Regatta.
● At the end of October 1999, the Bidding and Preparatory Committee of the Olympic Regatta was established.
2000
● On July 24, 2000, the Beijing Olympic Bid Committee approved Qingdao as the candidate city for the sailing competitions of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games; and the Qingdao Municipal Government sent a formal written rely to Beijing Olympic Bid Committee to notify them that Qingdao agreed to bid for the 2008 Olympic Games, thus becoming a formal bidding partner along with Beijing.
● On November 15, 2000, the Beijing Olympic Bid Committee received the first sailing validation certificate signed and released by the International Sailing Federation, which validated that Qingdao had the ability to provide the variety of top-quality facilities needed for the sailing competitions. This was the first validation certificate signed and released by the international federations (associations) for the 28 Olympic programs.
2001
●On February 21, 2001, Qingdao made a formal Olympics bid presentation to the evaluation team from the International Olympic Committee.
● On July 13, 2001, Beijing won bid for the 29th Olympic Games. Qingdao accordingly won the bid for the sailboat and sailboard programs of the Olympic Games.
● On July 21, the Qingdao Municipal Government held a special meeting in preparation for the Olympic Games, during which a leading system that the mayor took the general responsibility and all mayors participated in the leadership was determined for the Olympic Regatta.
2002
●On February 20-23, 2002, David Kellet, Vice President of the International Sailing Federation, and Arve Sundheim of the International Sailing Federation made a three-day-long on-the-site inspection of the venues available in Qingdao.
● On July 6-13, 2002, Qingdao held an Activity Week to Celebrate the First Anniversary of Successful Olympic Bid. Seventeen cultural and sports activities were held.
2003
● On November 11, 2003, the Sailing Committee (Qingdao) of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (SSCQD) was established.
● On September 19, 2003, the Racing Plan of the Qingdao International Sailing Center for the 20th Olympic Games was formally delivered to the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG).
● On December 2003, Juan Antonio Samaranch, Lifetime Honorary President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and former President of IOC, inspected and directed the preparatory work for the 2008 Olympic Regatta in Qingdao.
2004
● On June 30, 2004, the Beihai Shipyard was moved to a new location.
● On September 13, the see-off ceremony for the navigation to Shimonoseki City, Japan, was held for the sailing ship “QINGDAO” at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, thus commencing its round-the-world navigation.
● At six oclock in the evening of September 21, 2004, the starting ceremony for the “Olympic Countdown Clock” was held at the Huiquan Square.
● On May 15, the inauguration release ceremony for the emblem of “Sailing City·Qingdao” was held at the China Century Altar in Beijing.
2005
● On March 24, 2005, a ceremony was held in Qingdao for the Australian painter Charles Billich to paint the large oil painting entitled Great Qingdao.
● On October 15, 2005, President Jacques Rogge of the IOC and his entourage inspected the SSCQD and the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, and highly acclaimed the preparatory work done thus far for the Olympic Regatta.
● On December 28, 2005, construction of the main structure of the Administration and Competition Management Center of Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center was completed, symbolizing construction of the gymnasium for the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center was completed ahead of the annual scheduled goal.
2006
● On April 3-8, 2006, Qingdao successfully held the Qingdao Leg of the Clipper 2005 - 2006 Round-the-World Yacht Race, which was the first such race Qingdao had ever hosted. Furthermore, Guo Chuan, a sailor from Qingdao, was the first Chinese participating in this event.
● On August 18-31, 2006, the Good Luck Beijing -- 2006 Qingdao International Regatta was successfully held at the Qingdao International Sailing Center.
2007
● On August 1, the Whole-city Mobilization meeting for the One Year Countdown to the Olympics and 2007 Qingdao International Regatta was held.
● On August 9-24, 2007, the Good Luck Beijing -- 2007 Qingdao International Regatta was held at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center.
2008
● On February 18, ten yachts participating in the Qingdao Leg of the Clipper 2007-2008 Round-the-World Yacht Race all arrived in Qingdao.
● On April 21, 2008, the work operation team for the Olympic Games entered the gyms and the preparation of the Olympic Regatta entered the racing operation state.
● In April 2008, the Qingdao Olympic Sub-village was put into trial operation.
● On May 8-15, 2008 the Qingdao International Regatta for the Disabled was successfully held at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center.
