原文呈现

Great changes in my hometown

Great changes have taken place in my hometownof Nanjing over the years. In the past, the roads werenarrow and muddy, but now they are wide and clean.People used to travel by coach or bike, but today thereare more cars and taxis on the street. People can alsochoose metro or bus which is convenient and fast.

The city’s appearance has been improved. Once, there was still litter on the street, but now it is muchcleaner due to the government’s contribution to plantgreen trees on both sides of the road and create moreopen spaces.

对于家乡的变化都是泛泛而谈,不能在读者脑海中形成栩栩如生的形象。要选取其中一点“变化”进行具体且生动的刻画。

A few years ago, people could only live in smallhouses, but now most of them have moved into apart⁃ments. People’s lives have become more comfortablethan ever before.

Not only are living conditions better, but there arealso more ways to entertain ourselves. Some of us usedto listen to the radio in the past, but now most familieshave computers and network. Moreover, the communi⁃cation is more convenient now.

句式不够多样,可适当引用谚语、名言,使文章具备一定的文学性和可读性。同时,可以增添一些属于自己年龄段的对于家乡未来发展的期望。

Overall, we are enjoying a comfortable life and Iam proud of the progress in Nanjing. I look forward tothe continuous development of my hometown.

Great changes in my hometown

My hometown, Nanjing, has undergone tremendous changes over the years. As a middleschool student, I have witnessed some great changes and feel proud of the progress.

In the past, the roads were narrow and muddy, but now they have become wide andclean. People used to rely on coaches or bicycles for transportation, but today, cars and taxishave become a common sight. Moreover, the convenience of commuting has also been en⁃hanced with the introduction of the metro and bus systems.

In addition to the improvement of infrastructure, another significant change is the quali⁃ty of living for citizens. Gone are the days when people were confined to small houses. Mosthave now upgraded to spacious apartments. The comfort and convenience of everyday lifehave truly been elevated.

Nowadays, there are also more diverse entertainment options available. Our indoor en⁃tertainment used to be listening to radio and watching TV, but now most families have com⁃puters and other Internet products. Additionally, the outdoor entertainment environment hasbeen greatly improved. The previous Yangtze River floodplain hastransformed intoabustlingentertainment oasis park. On the weekend, the fitness trail is crowded with families leisurelybiking, andtheairisfilledwithlaughterandexcitement.

Faced with these incredible changes, I am reminded of a Chinese proverb:“Change isthe only constant in life.”These transformations have not only influenced the physical land⁃scape of Nanjing but have also touched the hearts of its inhabitants. I am truly grateful for ex⁃periencingsuchgreatchangesandlookforwardtothecontinuousdevelopmentofmyhometown.(江苏省南京市金陵汇文学校刘怀然;指导教师 袁露露)
