In the southwest of Gaoling Town in Muping District, there is mountain called Beishi Mountain with verdant vegeta-tions and beautiful scenery. In front of the mountain, there is a large river winding its way westward with flowing wa- ter all the year round. On the western slope there used to be a family graveyard of the Han’s. Nearby the family graveyard was a village called Hanjiazhai Village.
During the reign of Emperor Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, when a geomancer from the south passed by this place, his eyes lit up and he said to the nearby villagers, “This is a treasure land and can be used as a graveyard. The descendants of the family who choose this place as their graveyard will produce two generals in the future.” Seeing that he was dressed in rags and ugly-looking, the villagers did not take his words seriously, believing that he was giving utter nonsense. Among the villagers there was an old man with the surname of Han, who felt that this geomancer, with an air of immortals, was somewhat weird but not annoying. So the old man invited the geomancer to stay at his home and entertained him well to seek much advice. Before long, the two became intimate friends and talked about everything under the sun.
