Recently, MIIT, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Emergency Management and State Administration for Market Regulation jointly printed Guiding Opinions On Further Improving NEV Companies Safety System Construction (Guiding Opinions in short).

Guiding Opinions has put forth comprehensive suggestions from product design, vender management, production quality control, and power battery safety, covering 22 articles in 8 sectors. The incorporated safety design guide can be further subdivided into vehicle level, system level, and spare parts level, covering a lot of content including vehicle function safety, power batter safety, operation safety, charging and discharging safety, fire safety, and network safety.

According to responsible person from MIIT, power battery is the core part of NEV and the core element for us to make improvement in power battery safety. Guiding Opinions clearly points out the necessity to improve safety protection ability of power battery in the circumstances of collision, vibration, squeezing, soaking, and abnormal charging and discharging. Companies are encouraged to develop and utilize thermorunaway real-time monitoring and warning device and early-stage suppression and fire-fighting measures.
