Yunnan Office of Industry And Information Technology Announced the Full-Chain Action Plan on Reinventing New Advantages of Non-ferrous and New Material Industry

In the middle of January,Office of Industry And Information Technology of Yunnan Province announced a notice on “Printing And Distributing The Full-Chain Action Plan on Reinventing New Advantages of Non-ferrous and New Material Industry”,which states that by 2023,the non-ferrous metal raw material self-sufficiency rate province-wide (including its own resources outside the province)reaches over 50%,and the production of ten types of non-ferrous metals exceeds 9 million tons.In terms of industry scale,copper industry exceeds RMB 80 billion,aluminum industry exceeds RMB 150 billion,silicon industry exceeds RMB 120 billion,lead and zinc industry exceeds RMB 60 billion,tin industry exceeds RMB 40 billion,and rare metal industry exceeds RMB 50 billion.In the meantime,Yunnan Province puts forth the idea of building a green aluminum industry with features and advantages,i.e.promoting the commissioning and design capacity reaching of projects under construction,scientifically and steadily advancing planned projects,enhancing investment inviting,and introducing and cultivating a batch of leading companies and supporting companies,so as to achieve the capacity of aluminum alloy and aluminum processing of over 8 million tons.Yunnan Province aims to bring the advantages of industry scale to a higher level,extend to deep processing and terminal manufacturing faster,and propel the construction of two to three zero-carbon green aluminum parks.

Yunnan Province is a province rich in nonferrous metals and relies on non-ferrous metals as its pillar industry.It can be obviously seen that the Action Plan involves a lot of details and clear targets.The document indicates a strong determination of expanding,improving and strengthening non-ferrous industry;developing high value-added and deeplyprocessed products;promoting high-end and green development of the industry.Action Plan will work as a guidance document for Yunnan non-ferrous industry to gain development.
