Narrator：It is a warm spring day. Wendy and Betty play near their home. Then they hearsomeone shouting. It is their stepmother.

She is angry.

Stepmother：We are so poor！ You are too lazy. The kids eat too much food. We cannot keep them.

Father：What are you talking about？

Stepmother：Drive them away（赶走）！

Father：No！ They are my children. I love them. They need me.

Stepmother：If you dont， I will.

ACTⅡ

Narrator：Father goes to work. Stepmother has a plan.

Stepmother：Come with me， children. We will look for frogs in the woods.

Betty：I do not trust her， Wendy.

Wendy：Me， too.

Betty：I will drop crumbs（面包屑）on the way to make a trail（痕迹）

Wendy：I will be sure she does not see what youve done.

Stepmother：You fools go and play over there. I will go and pick some flowers. Then I will come back.

ACTⅢ

Narrator：The children know it is a lie. But they feel safe. They can follow the crumbs and go back home.

Wendy：Betty， what are those birds doing？

Betty：Oh， no！ They are eating our crumbs！

Betty：What will we do？ It is getting dark. I am scared.

Wendy：Dont worry. We can rest while it is dark. I will sing to you. I will sing the song our mother sang before.

Narrator：Wendy sings the song“Snow flakes”.The children went asleep. They wake up with the sun. They rub their eyes.

Wendy：Look， Betty！ It is a house！

Betty：It is a house to eat！ I see ice creams and cakes.

Wendy：And trees made of candies！

Betty：Taste the roof. It is sweet！

Wendy：And the door is made of chocolate！

Betty and Wendy： Yum！

ACT Ⅳ

Narrator：They are soon full. There are so many good things.

Suddenly， the door opens. Here comes a witch.

Witch：Ha！ I have you now.

Betty&Wendy：（run but be caught by the witch） Help！

Witch：（says to Betty） I will put you in a cage.

Witch：（says to Wendy） And you！ You will do all my work.

Betty&Wendy：Help！ Help！

Witch：No one can hear you. I will eat you， little girl. I will feed you fat and eat you when you get fatter. Get her some food！

Narrator：The witch shouts to Wendy. But the witch doesnt keep an eye on her. Wendy gives Betty food. But she also gives her a chicken bone. Each day， the witch comes to see if Betty gets fat. Betty shows her the bone.

Witch：You are not fat. Give her more food.

ACTⅤ

Narrator：Every day， the witch takes a look at Betty. One day， she does not want to wait anymore.

Witch：Make a fire in the oven， girl. I will eat your little sister today.

Betty：I am afraid， Wendy.

Wendy：（whispers to Betty） Dont worry！ I know what to do. Wait！

Wendy：（goes to the witch） I do not know if the fire is hot enough.

Witch：Oh， you fool！ This is how to do it.

Narrator：The witch puts her head in the oven. Wendy pushes the witch into the oven quickly. She closes the door. The witch is trapped.

Witch：Help！ Help！

Wendy：Betty， I found the key！ I will open the cage.

Betty：Thank you！ Lets go！

Narrator：The children run into the woods. They run and run.

At last， they find their home.

Betty&Wendy：Father！ Were back！

Father：Girls， you are home！ Your stepmother is gone.

Betty：We can live happily ...

Wendy：Forever！
