Celebrating the 42nd Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between China and Colombia

A Centennial Ode to the Red Plum Virtually Performed in Colombian Julio Mario Santodomingo Theater

On April 21st， A Centennial Ode to the Red Plum， a ballet drama from Chongqing， China， made its debut virtually in Julio Mario Santodomingo Theater in Colombia during the International Dance Season， as celebration for the 42nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Colombia. The performance was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China， Ministry of Culture of Colombia， Chinese Embassy in Colombia， Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government， Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development， and Chongqing Ballet Theater. The show has been on for one week on end， bringing a distinctively oriental ballet feast to over 2 million people around the world.

A Centennial Ode to the Red Plum is a classic ballet collection performed by Chongqing Ballet Theater， including original pieces such as My Motherland and world-renowned classics such as Black Swan Pas De Deux. The collection demonstrates the perfect combination of distinctive Chinese and international dancing styles at their finest. Lotus is selected from Shangri-La， an original work by Chongqing Ballet Theater， which celebrates the love for the hometown and motherland and the earnest pursuit of goodness; Landscape Chongqing， on the other hand， brings the unique mountains and rivers of Chongqing to life with ballet jumps as if the dancers were composing an oriental landscape painting on tiptoe. A Century of the Red Plum Braving Snow and Frost presents how the blossoming red plum in the freezing winter defies the bitter cold with its delicate fragrance， depicts the hardships that the Communist Party of China has endured for the past century， and pays tribute to today’s great era.

As a world-renowned art palace， Julio Mario Santodomingo Theater boasts millions of members and loyal fans worldwide. Lasting from March 31st to May 5th， the virtual international dance season assembles performing arts institutions including Canadian Montreal Ballet， Spanish Flamenco， British Grand Opera Dance Troupe， as well as Mexican Modern Dance Troupe. The dance season stands as a wonderful roundup of international ballet， classical dance， folk dance， and modern dance.

Founded in 2012， Chongqing Ballet Theater has left its footprints in the United States， France， Spain， Portugal， Algeria， Italy， Hungary， Singapore， etc. Its original work Shangri-La won the silver award at the 5th Ethnic Minorities Art Festival of China， and its acrobatic ballet Swan Lake won the 2008 Best International Repertoire Award in Manchester， England. By integrating western ballets， the Chinese national and opera elements， and local features， Chongqing Ballet Theater works to tell stories of China in a compelling way and make popular Sichuan and Chongqing culture.

為庆祝中哥建交42周年，4月21日，来自中国重庆的芭蕾舞剧《百年红梅颂》，精彩亮相哥伦比亚胡里奥·马里奥·圣多明戈大剧院国际舞蹈季云展演。演出由中国文化和旅游部、哥伦比亚文化部、中国驻哥伦比亚大使馆、重庆市人民政府外事办公室、重庆市文化和旅游发展委员会、重庆芭蕾舞团联合举办。该剧连续一周不间断展演，为全球200多万观众带来极具东方舞韵的芭蕾盛宴。

《百年红梅颂》是由重庆芭蕾舞团演绎的芭蕾舞剧经典选段荟萃。其中，既有《我的祖国》等原创作品，也有《黑天鹅双人舞》等世界知名舞剧选段，中国舞韵与国际风格珠联璧合、交相辉映、各具风采。《荷花》选自重庆芭蕾舞团原创芭蕾舞剧《追寻香格里拉》，表现了对家乡的热爱，对祖国山河的热爱，对真善美的热烈追求;《山水重庆》则用跳跃的舞姿表现重庆这座山水城市独特的美，以山水写意画风舞出东方风韵;《百年红梅傲雪开》表现寒冬中绽放的红梅，以芬芳扫去严寒，用旋转的足尖再现中国共产党的百年风雨路，礼赞当今伟大时代。

哥伦比亚胡里奥·马里奥·圣多明戈大剧院是世界著名艺术殿堂，其会员及忠实粉丝有数百万，遍布世界各地。此次国际舞蹈季云展演从3月31日持续至5月5日，加拿大蒙特利尔芭蕾舞团、西班牙弗拉门戈、英国大歌剧舞蹈团、墨西哥现代舞蹈团等演艺机构参加，是一场国际芭蕾、古典舞、民族舞和现代舞的精彩集萃。

重庆芭蕾舞团成立于2012年，足迹遍访美国、法国、西班牙、葡萄牙、阿尔及利亚、意大利、匈牙利、新加坡等国。其《追寻香格里拉》获第五届全国少数民族文艺汇演剧目银奖，杂技芭蕾舞剧《天鹅湖》获2008年英国曼彻斯特最佳国际剧目大奖。重庆芭蕾舞团将西方芭蕾与中国民族元素、中国戏曲元素及地域风格特色相结合，讲好中国故事，传播川渝文化。
