Already known as a haven for thrill?seekers， Six Flags Magic Mountain will soon have another major attraction on its roster： the worlds tallest and longest single?track roller coaster.

The Valencia， California theme park announced that Wonder Woman Flight of Courage will open this summer. Having originally been set to open last year， the record?breaking coaster was delayed because of the outbreak of the COVID?19 pandemic.

The roller coaster will be located in the parks DC Comics?themed section. At its fastest point， the ride hits 58 mph， and that is after climbing a 131?foot?tall hill and starting its first drop at an 87?degree angle. Additionally， the 3，300?foot?long track features three points at which riders turn upside down， known in the industry as “inversions”： a raven dive， a zero?gravity roll， and a 180?degree stall.

Wonder Woman Flight of Courage will accommodate four trains， each carrying 12 passengers at a time. In contrast to traditional roller coasters， in which the train is situated on tracks in between two rails， a single?rail coaster features only one. This means that passengers typically sit in a single?file line， with each seat straddling the rail.

Six Flags Great Adventure once announced that their central New Jersey park was home to the “worlds tallest， fastest， and longest single?rail coaster”—the Jersey Devil Coaster. Wonder Woman Flight of Courage appears to be very similar to the Jersey Devil， but it is slightly larger. This means that once it opens， the former will hold the title for the tallest and longest single?rail coaster.

The ride， which replaces the parks Green Lantern attraction， will maintain Magic Mountains status as home to the most roller coasters of any one theme park in the world. Six Flags currently houses 19 coasters， while the runner?up， Polands Energylandia， features 18.

As was the case for nearly every industry， the early days of the pandemic were a major blow to the amusement parks around the globe. There is no doubt that this is a fact that was felt by Six Flags developers. Six Flags Magic Mountain reopened in April 2021 with increased safety precautions for guests， including requiring masks in indoor areas and vaccine mandates on high?traffic days.
