Analysis of clinical value of combined detection of Helicobacter pylori-specific IgM and IgG, CA724 and CEA in diagnosing gastric cancer at early stage

[Abstract] Objective To investigate the value of the combined detection of Helicobacter pylori (Hp)-specific IgM, IgG, and tumor markers such as carbohydrate antigen 724(CA724) and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) in the early clinical diagnosis of gastric cancer(GC). Methods Serum samples were collected from 50 patients with GC, 50 patients with benign gastric lesions and 50 healthy volunteers who were admitted to our hospital from February 2018 to February 2020. IgM, IgG, tumor marker CA724 and CEA were detected. The differences in the positive rate of related indexes in each group and the results of combined detection were compared, and their values in the diagnosis of GC were analyzed. Results The positive rates of IgM, IgG, CA724 and CEA were higher in GC group than those in the benign gastric lesion group and the healthy volunteers group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The positive rate of IgM antibody in the benign gastric lesion group was higher than that in the healthy volunteers group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). There were not statistically significant differences in IgG, CA724 and CEA among groups(P>0.05). The positive rate of the combined detection was higher in GC group than that in the benign gastric lesions group and the healthy volunteers group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). Conclusion Hp-specific IgM, IgG, CA724 and CEA can be used for the early diagnosis of GC. Hp infection is closely related to the occurrence of GC. Combined detection of IgM, IgG, CA724 and CEA can significantly improve the detection rate and sensitivity of GC, reduce the occurrence of missed diagnosis, which shows a significant value for the early detection of GC.
