1. contain vt. 包含;含有;容纳

【经典例句】

Sea water contains salt. 海水包含盐分。

【易混辨析】

contain与include的辨析：

contain意为“包含”，侧重于“整体内有”，指在某一范围或某一个整体内包含某物;include 意为“包括”，包含物体的一部分， 特别是能明确界定的几个部分。including为介词，放在被包含的事物之前;included为形容词，放在被修饰的名词之后。

【温馨提示】

像contain， exist， stay， remain， obtain， have， form， own， possess， belong， contain， hold等表示存在或所属拥有的动词不能用进行时态。

2. select vt. 选择;挑选;选拔

select， choose， elect与pick out的辨析：

四个词均含有“选择”之意。select强调在广泛的范围内进行精选或淘汰，侧重以客观为标准进行选择;choose为普通用词，侧重根据个人意愿和判断从众多的对象中进行选择，着重指被选者的优点;elect指按照一定的规章和法律，用投票方式进行的慎重的选择;pick out为口语用词，按个人喜好或希望进行挑选，强调“从个人角度在众多事物之中进行挑选”。
