The SINOPEC RIPP to Keep Abreast of Latest ACEA C5 Grade Engine Oil Technology
2021-03-29
Recently the engine oil with its additive formulation independently developed by the SINOPEC Research Institute of Petroleum Processing (RIPP) has successfully passed a whole series of engine tests for the ACEA C5 grade oil, incarnating that RIPP has known well the latest technique for formulating the engine oil in compliance with the ACEA C5 grade oil quality requirements, which is a genuine breakthrough in formulating the ACEA C5 grade engine oil with domestically-made independent additive package.
The basic requirement for the loading oil and service oil used in European motor vehicles and engines is to meet the engine oil specification set forth by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA). The ACEA specification for the C5 grade engine oil is a standard for the latest engine oil and also the accredited engine oil with a highest quality, which is suited for use in gasoline engines and light diesel engines equipped with exhaust gas posttreatment devices or engines operating on biodiesel. This engine oil meeting the ACEA C5 grade oil quality standard is also the designated oil for most European vehicles or other vehicles adopting the European engine technology.
The RIPP’s ACEA C5 grade engine oil formulated with its self-developed additive package has broken the foreign companies’ monopoly of European motor engine oils, and has provided an excellent “example” for exporting Chinese engine oil product to Europe to barge into the overseas market. In the meantime, the Chinese market is dealing with a variety of European cars such as Benz, BMW, Audi and other motor vehicles adopting the European engine technology, therefore the domestic ACEA C5 grade engine oil can serve as a substitute for the imported European engine oils to save the car owner’s engine lubricant cost.
