1 Aims and scope
Advances in Polar Science(APS) is an international, English-language, peer-reviewed journal that publishes scientific research results concerning the Arctic and Antarctic regions across a broad range of disciplines. It is sponsored by the Polar Research Institute of China.APSis a true open-access journal, with no publication fees and all articles are freely accessible as soon as they are released.
APSis a quarterly journal published in March, June, September and December, and circulated both nationally and internationally. Formerly known as theChinese Journal of Polar Science(English Edition), founded in 1990, this journal is known asAdvances in Polar Sciencefrom Volume 22 (2011).
The journal contains several categories:
Reviews: Summarizes representative results and achieve- ments in a particular topic or an area, comments on the current situation, and advice on research directions. Author opinions and related discussions are invited.
Opinion Editorial:Provides a forum to comment on the status and/or deficiencies of any aspect of polar science, to reflect on recent innovation or progress, and to promote internationally collaborative polar science projects.
Articles:Reports important original results in all areas of polar science.
Letters: Briefly presents novel and innovative findings related to polar science.
Trends:Reports important scientific news, information, and academic affairs, as well as major international programs or conferences in all areas of polar science.
2 Copyright
Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review or thesis); that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as—tacitly or explicitly—by the responsible authorities at the institution where the work was carried out.
The author warrants that his/her contribution is original and that he/she has full power to make this grant. The author signs for and accepts responsibility for releasing this material on behalf of any and all co-authors.
