Long long ago， there lived a king.He was very fond of new clothes. He spentall his money to get them. He wanted tochange new coat for every hour of the day.Two cheaters knew about the king' shobby and they came to the palace.让我们一起来欣赏江苏省启东市王鲍小学同学们的精彩表演吧！

ACT1

Narrator： Long long ago， there was a king. He liked newclothes very much. So he wanted to make newclothes.

Cheater A： Could we fool the King who loves new clothes？

Cheater B：Let's try.

Narrator： They left their homes and visited the King.

Cheater A&B：My King， we can make new clothes for you. It is shiny（闪亮的） and colourful.

Cheater A： It feels like silk， but as warm as wool.

Cheater B：And it is as light as feathers （羽毛）.It is made upof the most wonderful cloth.

The King：Oh， great！ Make it for me.

ACT 2

Narrator：Several days later...

The King： Chamberlain， how's my new clothes？ Go and ask the tailors（裁缝）.

Chamberlain：Yes，My King. （knocks the door and waits outside）

Cheater A：（excitedly）Come in.

Chamberlain： The King orders me to check the new clothes.

Cheater A： It's not finished. But you can look at the coat. Is that beautiful？ How soft and lust（轻盈）！

Cheater B：Oh， wise Chamberlain， now you can see thecoat is magical. Clever people can see it.Foolish people can't see it.

Chamberlain： （murmurs）Um...Oh， my god！ Am Ifoolish？ I can't let others know！

Cheater A： Is it beautiful？

Chamberlain： Of course. It is really beautiful. Look at thecolors， that shimmer of the gold and silver threads. Wonderful！

Cheater A： Oh， you are so clever.

Chamberlain： When can you finish them？

Cheater B：Tomorrow.

Chamberlain：My King， the new coat will be finishedtomorrow. It is very beautiful.

The King：Good job.

ACT 3

Narrator： The next day...

The King：Soldiers， go to see the new coat.

Soldiers：Yes， My King.

Narrator： The Soldiers knock on the door and wait outside.

Cheater B：（very excitedly）Come in. The magic coat is finished.Clever people can see it. Foolish people can't seeit. Is it nice？

Soldiers：（murmurs）Um...Oh， my god！ Am I foolish？ I can'tlet others know it！ Yes， it is really beautiful.

Cheater B：Oh， you are so clever.

Soldiers：Let's go to see the King.

ACT 4

Narrator： The Soldiers and the two cheaters go to seethe King.

Cheater A&B：My King， here is the magic coat. Theyare very beautiful. And only clever people can see them.

The King：（murmurs）Oh， my god！ Am I foolish？ I wouldnot let others know it！（speaks loudly）Of course I can. It is beautiful.l will wear them this afternoon.

ACT 5

Narrator： The King is dressed in his new coat and readyfor the parade （游行）.All the people in the towncome to see him. There are people crowdedalong the sides of the streets.

Chamberlain： The parade now begins！

Audience：It is said that only the truly clever and brilliantpeople can see the coat. Most people can't see it.

Audience：Oh， really？ What a coat！

Child：What coat？ （laughs）The King has no clothes on at all！

Audience：It's true！ No clothes！ The King is naked（裸著的）！

The King：（shamedly runs away）Am I？ Oh， no！
