Slight unpremeditated Words are borne

But Billetdoux are constant Witnesses，

Substantial Records to Eternity;

Just Evidences， who the Truth confess，

On which the Lover safely may rely;

Theyre serious Thoughts， digested and resolvd;

And last， when Words are into Clouds devolvd.

作者简介

阿芙拉·贝恩（1640—1689）是英国文学史上第一位以写作谋生的职业女作家。她一生著作颇丰，在短短20年的写作生涯中，她创作了十九部戏剧作品、十四部中短篇小说、大量诗歌以及长篇书信体小说《一个贵公子与表妹的情书》。《奥鲁诺克》是其最为重要的小说，它是英国文学中最早一部同情黑人奴隶的佳作。
