BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution

When addressing the closing ceremony of the BRICS business forum in Brazil on November 13， 2019， Chinese President Xi Jinping called for accelerating the construction of a new industrial revolution partnership to help promote digital transformation of industry.

The next decade will be a crucial period for the global economy as new growth drivers replace old ones. Smart manufacturing， Internet Plus and other new industries are becoming a bridge for developing countries to achieve leapfrog development. Only by uniting emerging economies and developing countries represented by BRICS nations and cooperating to seize opportunities brought by the fourth industrial revolution can they catch up or even flip the situation. The construction of a BRICS partnership on the new industrial revolution will become a flagship project to promote BRICS cooperation and play a key role in fostering and enhancing the international competitiveness of the five countries.
