Abstract Based on action mechanism of "Fenlong technology" with the maximum activation potential of global natural resources, "natural resources activation theory" ("activation theory") is proposed firstly. Its connotation contains two parts. One is directly activating some natural resources in land, such as unutilized plough bottom of existing cultivated land and soil resources below it, saline alkali land, degraded grassland, ecological reconstruction of desertification land, inter row of fruit trees, lawn of sponge city, etc. The other is indirectly activating some natural resources in ground space, such as natural precipitation, solar energy, oxygen, terrestrial eco environment, soil resources, river waters and even climate change factors. It could release and generate huge physical endogenous force and cyclic force, and increase food source and available water resources, which is favorable for human survival, natures own ecological balance, harmonious coexistence and balance between man and nature, without harming nature itself. Moreover, its supporting theoretical system is explained from five aspects. It is pointed that the "activation theory" is deep derivation of "Fenlong technology" and "Fenlong science". By sufficiently playing the potential of natural resources, it could reach human dominated comprehensive balance and coordinated development of air, sunshine, water, soil, nutrient, microorganism, plant, livestock and poultry, marine organism in the nature. The "activation theory" is concrete embodiment of respecting, changing and using the nature, and new channel of realizing sublimation of "life community of human and nature" and benefiting mankind.
Key words Fenlong technology; Natural resources; Activation theory; Life community
Core science theory of Fenlong tillage and cultivation technology (abbreviated as "Fenlong technology" or "Fenlong") with the maximum activation potential of global natural resources[1-2] is "extra deep tillage, deep loosening but not disturbing soil layer, and driving efficient activation and utilization of natural resources such as land, natural precipitation and solar energy". It creates new tillage and cultivation technology containing Fenlong tillage tools, and the matched full layer tillage and bottom tillage, which could effectively enhance the productivity of existing cultivated land, and conduct full cover tillage utilization of saline alkali land, degraded grassland, ecological reconstruction of desertification land, inter row of fruit trees, lawn of sponge city and land consolidation project. Fenlong technology has been applied in 35 kinds of crops in 25 provinces and regions of China. It has been proved that Fenlong technology could increase yield by 10%-50%, in which corn yield increased by 73% in severe saline alkali land, and had general effects of improving quality, conserving water and maintaining ecology[3-4].
The occurrence of Fenlong technology and its effect are major changes of "the fourth set of" farming model after manpower, animal power, and tractor farming[5], which solves the problem of deep tillage but could not deep loosen in worlds farming, and could promote and establish new discipline "Fenlong science". It solves the frontier science problem of "mutual benefit and symbiosis" between man and nature from theory and practice[6]. What is more gratifying is that "natural resources activation theory" could be established based on "Fenlong" and "Fenlong science" which cause efficient activation and utilization of natural resources such as land, natural precipitation and solar energy. It is significant and far reaching for promoting activation and utilization of natural resources endowed by the universe, meeting the increasing of human number and the demand of economic and social development, and maintaining dynamic balance of natural ecology[7].
Background and significance of proposing Fenlong "natural resources activation theory"
Earth is the common home of mankind. Global population continuously grows, and it will develop from current 7.5 billion to more than 10 billion in the future. With abrupt increase of future global population, it needs sufficient food, available water resources, good ecology, fresh air and stable suitable climate environment. Where does the effective guarantee of these conditions come from?
All things are born in the universe. Evidently, human survival and development depend on the nature, and fundamental way of maintaining safety of natural resources is activating and using the nature.
It is clear that "natural resources activation theory" proposed and determined on the basis of "Fenlong" and "Fenlong science" has the scientific frontier and the time nature. Under the present modernization condition, it provides a new academic and application platform for human understanding and utilizing the nature. Meanwhile, scientific approach research and theoretical interpretation of "natural activation" could be conducted, which is conducive to promoting better solution of major frontier science problems in natural science, and coordination between guaranteeing normal existence and development of future human and maintaining dynamic equilibrium of natural ecology.
Establishment basis of Fenlong "natural activation theory"
"Natural resources activation theory" based on "Fenlong" and "Fenlong science" has had good technical experience base.
Inventing Fenlong tillage tools which could further activate natural resources
Inspired from "hole forming and chip discharging" of screw bit drilling wood by carpenters, the tillage tool with "spiral drill" was invented in 2008. Via five kinds of soil preparation tests such as slash and burn cultivation, manpower, animal power, tractor and Fenlong, it showed that the yields of corn and peanut by Fenlong respectively increased by 13.4% and 17.9% than that by tractor. At present, machinery products with "spiral drill" for Fenlong tillage have been formulated and produced. In recent years, "top rotation and down plow" of double layer loosening tool and "circular saw (teeth) of deep loosening" tool are developed successively. Its operation velocity and cost are equivalent to tractor farming, but Fenlong tillage deepens by 1-2 times. That is to say, it deepens by 1-2 times of topsoil suitable for cultivation on the earth than "prying" of traditional tillage by a simple manner, which provides "sharp weapon" for further activating natural resources.
Establishing Fenlong "full layer tillage" and "bottom layer tillage" technology system which could further activate natural resources
Based on "full layer tillage" and "bottom layer tillage", "super tillage layer" and "super groundwater reservoir" tillage and cultivation technology system is constructed. It could conduct full cover cultivation and utilization of arable land, saline alkali land, degraded grassland, ecological reconstruction of desertification land, inter row of fruit trees suitable for cultivation, lawn of sponge city and land consolidation project, and could transform traditional "farmland agriculture" to "large scale green agriculture" of "Fenlong farmland+ saline alkali land, degraded grassland, ecological reconstruction of desertification land, fishery of river water"[8].
Effects of Fenlong activating natural resources in yield increase
Basic fertility (physical fertility)
Without fertilization, yields of rice[9], corn[10] and wheat increased by 15%-30% in the year of cultivation, and more than 5% of yield increase was still in following six years.
Large area application effect
When it was applied in 35 kinds of crops in 25 provinces and regions of China, stable yield increase reached 10%-50%, in which yield of sweet potato increased by 100% in the test by experts of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Test results by experts in many provinces showed that average yield of corn at seven sites increased by 1 956.45 kg/hm2, with 20.54% of increase amplitude; average yield of wheat at three sites increased by 1 903.50 kg/hm2, with 31.42% of increase amplitude; average yield of potato at six sites increased by 13 249.65 kg/hm2, with 36.25% of increase amplitude.
Rice effect
Rice yield of seedling throwing planting in dry soil increased by 1 891.05 kg/hm2, with 25.51% of increase amplitude. Average rice yield at seven sites of Hunan and Guangxi increased by 1 421.1 kg/hm2, with 18.65% of increase amplitude[11].
Sugarcane effect in dryland
Average yield of sugarcane at five sites increased by 23 502.9 kg/hm2, with 28.57% of increase amplitude. Average yield of sugarcane in super high yield demonstration of Guangxi dryland by Fenlong in 2018 was 159.9 t/hm2, which increased by 47.85 t/hm2 than control, with 41.34% of increase amplitude. In large area demonstration of sugarcane by Fenlong, average yield was 133.05 t/hm2, which increased by 35.1 t/hm2 than control, with 35.82% of increase amplitude. It solved the problem of "three droughts and one low temperature" (drought in spring, autumn and winter and low temperature in winter and spring) restricting sugarcane yield increase.
Rehabilitation effect of moderate saline alkali land
Via the tests in Xinjiang, Jilin and Shandong, it showed that yield increase by "reducing salt" in low and moderate saline alkali land reached 20%-40%[12-13].
Rehabilitation effect of severe saline alkali land
The test result showed that cotton yield increased by 48.8% in Yuli County of Xinjiang. In severe saline alkali land containing 9.2‰ of salt in Dongying of Shandong, soil salt content by Fenlong once for 0- 20 cm declined by 31.98%. In September of 2018, experts tested fresh weight of corn by Fenlong for three times (12 150 kg/hm2), with 73.0% of increase amplitude, and salt (sodium) content of its corn kernel decreased by 20.81%, while current growth of winter wheat was good. It showed that Fenlong rehabilitation for three times was successful.
Rehabilitation effect of degraded grassland
Rehabilitation effect of Inner Mongolia grassland by Fenlong for 130 d was determined, and the result showed that grass yield increased by 116%.
General connotation of Fenlong "natural resources activation" theory
Basic connotation of Fenlong "natural resources activation" theory
Fenlong "natural resources activation" theory is firstly proposed and discussed in natural science field. Its basic connotation is based on action mechanisms of "Fenlong technology" and "Fenlong science". It directly activates some natural resources in land (or some natural resources), indirectly activates and uses some natural resources of surface space such as oxygen, natural precipitation and solar energy. By activating natural resources in land, it drives "overlapping effect" utilization of natural resources in space, thereby overall realizing that the activated natural resources release and generate huge physical endogenous force and cyclic force. It is conducive to human existence, natures own ecological balance, harmonious symbiosis and balance between man and nature, without harming nature itself.
Fenlong "natural resources activation theory" is deep derivation of Fenlong technology and Fenlong science, and mankinds awe to natural resources. By sufficiently playing the potential of natural resources, it reaches comprehensive balance and coordinated development of air, sunshine, water, soil, nutrient, microorganism, plant, livestock, and marine organism in the nature, which is suitable for human survival. It is the exemplification of respecting, transforming and using the nature, and the sublimation of realizing life community of human and nature.
Generalized and narrow connotations of Fenlong "natural resources activation" theory
Narrow Fenlong "natural resources activation" theory indicates directly activating some terrestrial natural objects, containing unutilized plough bottom of the existing cultivated land and soil resources below it, saline alkali land that has not yet been fully reconstructed and utilized, degraded grassland, ecological reconstruction of desertification land, inter row of fruit trees, lawn of sponge city and land consolidation project. Generalized Fenlong "natural resources activation" theory indicates indirectly activating and using some natural resources of ground space such as oxygen, natural precipitation and solar energy, and eco environment, soil resources and river water of terrestrial nature, and even climate change factors based on the connotation of narrow Fenlong "natural resources activation" theory.
Theoretical system of supporting the establishment of Fenlong "natural resources activation theory"
The theory of natural resources (materials) activable
Nature in the universe is made up of matter, and natural resources contain land, mine, river, air, solar energy and rainwater, etc. The relation between man, other organisms (such as animal, plant, and microorganism) and nature is in a "life community". Natural resources gives mankind food, and human beings must depend on and take care of natural resources to survive and develop, which is an iron rule.
Nature (material) is activable, especially natural resources directly relating to human survival and development, containing land, natural precipitation and solar energy, etc. Since ancient times, human beings activated and used nature by farming and crop cultivation, and different farming and crop cultivation models cause the difference of its activation and utilization degree.
Life community theory of human and nature
Fenlong rationally activates resources and treats land to give more food, while human beings could reduce chemical fertilizer to decrease the harm on nature. It establishes good relationship of "mutual benefit and symbiosis", reaches dynamic balance of natural ecology, realizes that "each place has its own way of supporting its own inhabitants", and embodies life community of human and nature.
The theory of excavating "natural forces"
Nature contains tremendous natural forces. Fenlong activates resources, and soil loosening volume increases by 1-2 times; water holding capacity increases by 1 times; soil oxygen increases by 1 times; soil available nutrients increase by 10%-30%; soil salt declines by 20%-40%; crop root system increases by more than 30%, and biomass increases by 20%-30%; photosynthetic efficiency improves by 5%-30%; soil methane emission decreases by 10%; air humidity in dry region (Dingxi of Gansu) improves by more than 10%. It is clear that Fenlong could excavate five kinds of natural forces: "activation force of land resources, natural water governance force, natural fertility, natural improvement force of eco environment, and natural activation and utilization force of river water", use natural forces to increase food source and available water resources, "use natural forces to improve nature", and reduce many kinds of disasters[14].
The theory of double enlargement of "pool" and "source" increasing yield and improving quality
Yield increase is contradictory to quality improvement in traditional crop cultivation, and the contradict has always been difficult to break through. Since establishing "super tillage layer" and "super soil reservoir" , Fenlong cultivation implements the theory of "taking root as the basis", which promotes root system development, and defends adverse environments such as drought, high temperature, and low temperature. Fenlong cultivation implements "equilibrium supply" theory of nutrient and water, and crop root grows in prior period and strengthens in middle period, with strong aftereffect. Finally, it realizes the coordinated "double enlargement" of plant "pool" and "source", thereby increasing yield and improving quality.
Benign effect theory of natural ecology
Fenlong activates and uses land, natural precipitation and solar energy, causing soil methane emission decrease, soil water storage capacity increase, biomass increase, photosynthetic efficiency improvement. These effects could cause that land water resources are more abundant (river water source increases), and air humidity increases (air is pleasant in dry region, and ground vegetation is more lush), carbon fixation and emission reduction (conducive to slowing down climate warming). Activation of natural resources creates good natural eco environment[15].

Conclusions and discussion
Nature and resources give boundless gifts to mankind, and its scientific and reasonable activation and utilization are also possible.
Based on action mechanisms of "Fenlong" and "Fenlong science", it proposes and explains "natural resources activation theory" of Fenlong, which is a major attempt to extension research of "Fenlong science" theory, and the first exploration and interpretation of "natural activation theory". We hope more people to concern and support "Fenlong farming" transformation, "Fenlong science", and Fenlong "natural resources activation theory", thereby making these theories expand the horizon of natural science research, meet economic and social development needs, maintain dynamic balance of natural ecology, and benefit mankind.
