I love visiting new cities and going to places of interest. Recently， I visited the German city of Leipzig and it was a really amazing trip！ Leipzig is quite a big city， and theres so much to do and see.       1

2       But I really enjoyed my visit to Leipzigs Museum of Fine Arts. I saw lots of different types of artworks in the museum—from pieces that are over 400 years old to modern art！       3       It was certainly a cool way for me to spend a rainy afternoon here！

The St Nicholas Church

This is a church with a very interesting history. The church has connections to both famous musicians and important events. I had heard a lot about this history， so it was amazing to finally visit the church in person.       4       There were beautiful paintings on the wall and it was very peaceful to stay here.

Leizpig Zoo

In my opinion， Leipzig has one of the best zoos in the world！ The zoo is huge， and there are so many different animals—including tigers， elephants and even koalas！       5       Theres a flowing river and you can travel down it on a boat. It is really cool！ Id love to visit Leipzig Zoo again one day.

The earth is about 4，600 million years old. We humans have lived on the earth for only 35，000 years， but during this period we have changed our planet a lot in many ways.

All over the world， people have cut down millions of trees， so more and more kinds of animals and plants are disappearing. In big cities， cars and buses have polluted the air. Factories have also polluted the land and the water.

It is important to the earth. But now air pollution is destroying it and that has made a very big hole in the ozone layer （臭氧層）.  This is very dangerous because it can cause cancer.

Carbon dioxide （二氧化碳） in the air has increased a lot.  It has formed a “blanket” around the earth.

This makes our earth become warmer and warmer. Therefore， this causes the ocean level to rise.

All these problems are very serious. We must do something to stop our earth from being polluted anymore.

A hobby can be almost anything that a person likes to do in his spare time. Hobbyists raise pets， watch birds， paint pictures， play the piano， and grow flowers.  They collect everything from books to butterflies， from boxes to stamps.

People take up hobbies because these activities offer enjoyment， friendship， and relaxation. Hobbies offer interesting activities for the old. Some hobbies can make a child grow as a person， develop his interest， and help him learn new skills.  Doctors have found that hobbies are useful in helping patients recover from illness. Hobbies give patients， who cant move around， something to do and provide interests that keep them from thinking about their illness. Many hospitals treat patients by having them take up interesting hobbies.

In early times， most people were too busy making a living to enjoy hobbies. But some persons who had spare time did enjoy hobbies.  People today have more time than ever before. Machines have now reduced much time that people must spend on their jobs.

Those who have developed hobbies never need to worry about what to do with their newly-found free time hours.

There are many things we need to know that we do not learn at school. For example， if we want to make good use of our money， we need to shop wisely. We need to be able to find good things. We need to know how to compare the prices of the same things in different shops.

Knowing how to make such choices is a “life skill”， and we need these skills if we want to live useful and happy lives.  For example， will I take an apple for lunch or a pear？ Will I go to school by bus or on foot？ Will I wear the red T-shirt or the blue one to the movies？  For example， will I eat healthy food for lunch or will I eat junk food because it is tastier？ Will I work hard in all my classes or will I only work hard in the classes I enjoy？
