5G might be the hottest topic around the world these two years. It seems that people from all walks of life are interested in it, from students to professors, from workers to farmers.Then what is 5G?
Here“G”is the short form of“generation”and 5G,the next generation of wireless technology for the world will replace the current 4G system. Before 4G there were 3G,2G and so on.In one word,it is the evolution or progression of wireless technology.
Each step of technology development with the number becoming bigger (1G to 2G,3G…) means improvements in speed and allowing more people use the network.It is the same with the new 5G system. It is expected to permit more users to do more things——at a faster rate.
But at the same time, 5G offers us something different from the previous.Technology experts say it will move well beyond mobile network technology to affect many more devices and industries than other"G"versions.
5G will play a big part in helping building the future"smart cities" by connecting sensor networks. Such networks will be able to control vehicle traffic and quickly identify streetlight outages.
5G is also expected to connect self-driving cars and support new technologies involving virtual reality. It will become a common thing for doctors to do remote medical operations with the help of the higher-speed 5G.Factories and businesses could use 5G technology to increase automation and improve the collection of information.
5G可能是近两年最热门的世界性话题之一。各行各业的人,不管是学生、老师、工人还是农民,似乎大家都对它感兴趣。那到底什么是5G呢?
“G”是“generation”的缩写,5G(世界下一代无线技术)将代替现在的4G系统。在4G之前是3G、2G,以此类推。用一句话概括,5G是无线技术的最新发展。
伴随着每一次技术进步(从1G到2G、3G……),速度会更快,无线技术网络容纳的用户也会增加。5G也不例外,通过这个系统,更多的人可以以更快的速度做更多的事。
但是同时,5G也有不同于先前“版本”的地方:技术专家说5G已经不仅仅是移动网络技术,它对很多行业和设备都会产生影响。
通过连接传感网络,5G在未来的“智慧城市”建设中将起到很大作用。这些网络可以控制车辆通行,还可以快速发现街灯电路故障。
5G技术还可以把无人驾驶汽车联系起来,同时为虚拟现实技术提供支持。有了更快的5G技术,医生可以轻易地实现远程手术操作。5G技术还可以加快工厂和各行各业的自动化建设和信息搜集。
