2018年年底，中国美术学院与旧金山美术学院在旧金山联合举办“哲匠之道：中国美术学院旧金山特展”。

特展以旧金山美术学院两个校区作为一个剧目的两幕场景，分別呈现“征兆：八个背影”“造化I：山水宣言”“造化Ⅱ：心印宇宙”与“编织：从一到一”“行旅：人的山水化”“绘画：所视，所绘，所思”两组三部曲，展示来自中国美术学院中国画、书法、油画、版画、装置、影像、建筑、视觉传达、虚拟现实等多元学科40余位艺术家独特的艺术理念，以展现中国美术学院的文化坐标、教育理念和艺术成就。

Toward the end of 2018， China Academy of Art held a special exhibition in San Francisco in partnership with San Francisco Art Institute. The two art institutions established a formal relationship in 1984. Titled “From/To： the Frontier of Chinese Art Education”， the exhibition was held at the historic Chestnut Street campus and newly built Fort Mason campus of SFAI to exhibit some of the top cultural producers in China. This exhibition is a survey of works by CAAs student body that delve into both historical and contemporary Chinese narratives through traditional ink paintings， immersive virtual reality and new media spaces， an array of painting， print， and sculpture works， and large-scale installations. In honor of the 90th anniversary of CAA， the exhibition presents the academys cultural pursuit， education philosophy and art achievement.
