CPAPD International Exchanges

On April 11,2018,An Yuejun,Secretary General of the CPAPD met with Dr.Rudolf Yuniarto,associate researcher of the Research Centre for Regional Resources in the Indonesian Institute of Science.Both sides exchanged views on related issues of the Belt and Road Construction,people-to-people exchanges between China and Indonesia and so on.

May 10 to 19,2018,at the invitation of the Russian Committee of Solidarity and Cooperation with the Peoples of Asia and Africa(RCSCAA),the Institute of Strategic Study,Islamabad(ISSI),and the Bangladesh Peace Council(BPC), Zhou Li,Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament(CPAPD)and former Vice-Minister of the International Department,the CPC headed the CPAPD delegation on a good-will visit to Russia,Pakistan and Bangladesh.

During the stay in Russia,Zhou Li met respectively with Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council and President of the RCSCAA Ilyas Umakhanov,Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Presidential Envoy for the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov,Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of Russia Dmitry Novikov,Vice Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma and President of the International Association of Peace Foundations Anatoly Karpov,Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations Yury Osipov,Chairman of Saint Petersburg Committee for External Affairs Dmitriyevich,and had discussions with the RCSCAA and the Institute of Oriental Studies,Russian Academy of Sciences.

During the stay in Pakistan,Zhou Li met respectively with Deputy Speaker of Pakistan's National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi,Chairman of Pakistan’s Senate Foreign Affairs Committee and the Parliamentary Committee on CPEC Mushahid Hussain Sayed,and the Central Joint Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party Bayazeed Kasi.The delegation also had discussions and exchanges with friends of then ISSI and Regional Peace Institute.

During the stay in Bangladesh,Zhou Li met respectively with Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League Muhammad Faruq Khan,President and Secretary of International Affairs of Bangladesh Awami League Muhammad Zamir and Dr.Shammi Ahmed,Chairman and Secretary of Chairperson of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Foreign Affairs and former Foreign Minister Dr.Dipu Moni,and attended the seminar on China-Bangladesh Relationship and International Security Situations held by the BPC,the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies,the Center for Research and Information,University of Dhaka and so on.

June 19 to 27,2018,At the invitation of CPAPD,16 scholars from leading think tanks on peace and security studies of the USA,Russia,Japan,Korea,Sweden,the UK,Germany,France,Australia and Canada visited China.During their visit in Beijing,they participated in the thematic symposiums entitled Wanshou Dialogue on Global Security:the Current Situation in the Asia-Pacific Region sponsored by the CPAPD.CPAPD Deputy Secretary-General Tao Tao hosted a work discussion.In addition,the foreign friends also visited Shanghai,and had in-depth discussions with scholars of the Shanghai Institute of International Studies and the Institute of International Studies of Fudan University.

June 19 to 27,2018at the invitation of the CPAPD,14 experts on security issues from leading thinks tanks in India,Indonesia,Malaysia,Mongolia,Pakistan,the Philippines,Sri Lanka,Thailand,Vietnam visited China.During their stay in Beijing,they participated in the thematic symposiums under The First Wanshou Dialogue on Global Security:the Current Situation in the Asia-Pacific Region organized by the CPAPD.CPAPD Secretary General An Yuejun hosted a discussion with the scholars.In addition,they also visited Shenzhen and Guangzhou in Guangdong province.
