谭中怡，生于1991年，重庆人。5岁半开始学习国际象棋，进步神速。2000年至2002年，三获国象世少赛冠军，五夺代表全国分龄组最高水平的李成智杯。11岁成为职业棋手，15岁在全国体育大会击败棋后谢军，20岁首获世团赛冠军，夺得世界大运会个人与团体双料冠军，25岁以不败战绩帮助中国女队12年后重夺奥赛冠军。2017年女子世锦赛折桂，成为世界国象史上第十六位棋后，晋升男子特级大师。

横举一柄长枪，瞄准前方，仿佛正要扣响扳机—这张颇有“女汉子”气概的照片，被26岁的谭中怡用作了微信头像。3月4日凌晨，小谭沉寂近3个月的朋友圈更新了，寥寥数语和几张照片，记录了跌宕起伏的德黑兰世锦赛之旅。

“谭中怡赢了，夺冠了！”2017年国象女子世锦赛决赛加赛当晚，中国队教练余少腾在微信群里，用语音激动地向大家报告喜讯。出征前，或许很少有人预料到这个赛果，但拥有一颗“大心脏”的谭中怡打出了如此漂亮的“一枪”，为中国国象射下了第十一个棋后头衔。

“没想到能走到最后，愿望全都实现了。”直到抵达首都机场，谭中怡悬着的心才算完全落地。望着怀中的冠军奖杯，这个重庆辣妹子不改调皮本色，“如果说有遗憾，那就是这么艰苦的比赛，竟然还没瘦下来。”

世锦赛遭遇6位对手，4次通过加赛晋级

征战世锦赛前，谭中怡的等级分排在世界第十四位，在中国队派出的7朵“金花”中，她并非最有希望的冲冠点。“以前我的最好战绩是32强，这次希望能走得远点，别那么早回家。”谭中怡从不掩饰对胜利的渴望，却不愿用目标禁锢自己，“抛开一切，努力去做就好。”

尽管拥有一颗平常心，但通往棋后的道路比想象中更为艰难。世锦赛第二轮，谭中怡与乌克兰的前棋后乌什尼娜狭路相逢，两盘慢棋打成平手，不得不通过加赛快棋一决高下。连续7轮较量，直至最残酷的突然死亡快棋，谭中怡才涉险过关。惊心动魄的场面，连见多识广的余少腾都连呼“太刺激”。

未曾想，“加赛”从此成了谭中怡前行的标签。世锦赛遭遇的6位对手，4个通过加赛决出胜负，谭中怡一次次被逼到悬崖边，又一次次力挽狂澜，强大的心理素质和临场能力令人惊叹。最经典的一战来自半决赛，面对印度名将哈利卡，谭中怡在25分钟快棋中先输后赢，而后在10分钟快棋先赢后输，5分钟超快棋一度濒临崩溃，却被她顽强扳了回来，“泰山崩于前而色不变”的气势彻底压垮对手的心理防线，使其在突然死亡快棋中因超时判负。

当谭中怡在决赛再次上演“加赛好戏”，一举击溃以超快棋闻名于世的乌克兰名将安娜·穆兹丘克，整个世界棋坛都被这个“过五关斩六将”的中国姑娘所折服。“这次谭中怡的加冕之路应该说是这几届淘汰赛中最惊险的一次，她在关键场次所表现的冷静，即使放我在这个赛场上，恐怕都做不到她这么出色。”曾四夺棋后的谢军感慨道。

如此“定海神针”般的表现，对谭中怡来说已不是第一次。在2016年第四十二届国际象棋奥林匹克团体赛上，她以7胜4和的不败战绩斩获第四台次金牌，帮助中国女队12年后重夺冠军。正如中国国象队总教练叶江川所言，谭中怡身上有一种特别的韧劲和精气神，“很多棋手到了一定时期可能会失去激情，失去前进的动力，但小谭跟我说过，她要集中精力好好下棋，而且要下很长时间，这一点非常值得年轻棋手学习。”

日积月累，换来世锦赛一飞冲天

在谭中怡之前，中国国象出过4位棋后，尤其是“天才少女”侯逸凡，20岁出头已四度登顶，达到同辈女棋手难以超越的高度。不过，谭中怡却没有把“这座大山”当成负担，始终按照自己的节奏积蓄力量，“国象选手需要多积淀，我很清楚自己想要什么。”

这样平和、冷静的心态，源自谭中怡的成长经历。在她最初学棋时，“体育迷”父亲本来想送她去围棋班，因为满员才转投国际象棋。没想到，小谭天生就是下国象的材料，年仅10岁就三夺世界分龄组少年冠军，创造了国际象棋界的一项纪录。2006年全国体育大会上，15岁的谭中怡与棋后谢军大战数十回合，加时赛爆冷取胜，一战成名。

或许少年时光太过一帆风顺，步入青春期的谭中怡一度遭遇“成长的烦恼”，徘徊在国家队主力阵容之外。有一次，她向国家男队队长倪华讨教女子残局偏弱问题，前辈的秘诀无外乎两个字：刻苦。于是，谭中怡加大了训练量和比赛量，每年不算快棋要下200盘左右，一步步提升棋力。“我知道伤仲永的故事，我绝不会续写。”谭中怡不断对自己说。

2011年，谭中怡迎来了第一个收获季。女子世团赛的冠军，让一直专注于国内赛场的她，感受到世界一流高手间的竞争，也意识到自己的上升空间。“我找叶老下超快棋将近有100盘，让我对快棋有了更多的感觉和经验。”对谭中怡的勤奋，叶江川很是欣慰，“小谭快棋很有办法，攻击性很强，经常有一些巧妙的战术手段，这和平时的磨练分不开。”

千里之行，始于足下。谭中怡日积月累的努力，最终换来世锦赛的一飞冲天。从德黑兰归来，鲜花、荣誉与嘉奖接踵而至，山东景芝酒业专门为她办了夺冠庆功会，赠送了昂贵的蓝宝石。但这些没有扰乱小谭的心神，“‘棋后’的称号对我不会有特别大的改变，这并不代表我就比其他棋手强，我还有很多地方需要向别人学习。”

棋盘前文静大气，聊天时是段子手

在不熟悉的人眼中，棋盘前凝神静思的谭中怡是文静、大气、持重的。但在国象圈子里，她却是有名的开心果、段子手。相熟的棋手或记者遇到她，总喜欢逗她两句，亲切地叫一声“小谭”。

既有重庆女孩的泼辣，又不失温暖与娴静，谭中怡看似矛盾的性格中有一种特别的魔力，让人忍不住亲近。赛场上，无论何时镜头对准小谭，从未见她有任何的躲闪。聊天时，她的直言快语夹杂着“自黑”，常常令人忍俊不禁。“看不出来胖吗？那是因为那天衣服挑得好，以后找对象得挑个眼力不好的，夏天尽量不见面。”小谭打趣起自己一点也不心软。

如此的洒脱、率真，不仅体现在待人接物，也融入对棋的认知。“有人喜欢专注做一件事，有的人想看看不同的风景，而我是后者。我对下棋没有那么多的抱负，能保持不错的状态，相比自己有进步就可以了。”谭中怡很钦佩坚持到30多岁还在一线的赵雪，“现在‘95后’小姑娘上升很快，逆水行舟不进则退，我总告诉自己还得加把劲啊。”

谭中怡很恋家，在重庆时每天走路去棋院，还不到10分钟。2013年从上海财经大学毕业后，谭中怡逐渐尝试做一些教练工作，并在家乡试水国象推广。“我是去开荒的，想做接地气的比赛，在学校扎下根，给家乡留下一些国象种子。”非奥项目并不主流，仅靠个人推广难度不小，但谭中怡却很坚定，“其实国象发展的空间很大，只要有人肯去做，总有一天学国象的青少年也能特别多。”

在谭中怡的心中，加冕棋后并非唯一的梦想。“女子棋手的巅峰时期一般在30岁上下，未来我会更投入，争取在棋上走得更远，最好能保持到35岁。”说到这个“小目标”，谭中怡又恢复了“女汉子”神采，眼神清亮而富有力量。

Tan Zhongyi,born in 1991,is a native of Chongqing.She began to learn international chess at the age of 5 a nd a half,making fast progress.From 2000 to 2002,she had won the World Junior Championship for three times and the Li Chengzhi Cup for f ve times,representing the highest level in the her age group.She became a professional player when she was 11 years old; when she was 15,she defeated Xie Jun,the chess queen in the All-China Games; when she was 20,she frst won the championship at the World Team Cup and both the individual and group championship at the Universiade.The 25-year-old Tan Zhongyi had helped the Chinese Women Team to regain the Olympic Championship with her unbeaten record.Tan Zhongyi won a championship in the 2017 World Women’s Championship,becoming the 16th chess queen in the history of chess and promoted as the women’s grand master.

“Tan Zhongyi has won,she has won the championship!”On that night of the added competition of the f nal of 2017 World Women’s Chess Championship,Yu Shaoteng,the Chinese team coach,told the good news excitedly to everyone through his voice message in the WeChat group.Perhaps before the competition,few people would expect this result,but Tan Zhongyi with a strong heart played such a beautiful“one shot”and won the 1 1th title of chess queen for the Chinese Chess Team.

“I did not expect that I was able to stick to the end.Now all wishes have been realized.”Tan Zhongyi’s heart was not rested until her arrival at the capital airport.Looking at the trophy in her arms,this Chongqing spicy girl did not change the nature of naughty,“If there is a regret,it would be that I don’t lose weight during such a tough game.”

Compete with 6 opponents in the World Championship,4 promotions after the added competition

Before Tan Zhongyi went to the World Championship,ranking fourteenth in the rank of the world,she was not the most promising to win the championship in the seven girls sent out by the Chinese team.“My best record is top 32.And this time I hoped that I would try my best and not go home so early.”Tan Zhongyi never hides her desire for victory,but she is not willing to con f ne herself with the target,“Just leave everything behind and try your best.”

Although with an usual mind,the path to the chess queen is much more difficult than expected.In the second round of the World Championship,Tan met Ushenina,the former chess queen of Ukraine.They tied in the two slow chess and had to compete with each other in an added competition of speed chess.After the continuous 7 rounds of competition,Tan Zhongyi didn’t win until the most brutal sudden death speed chess.The thrill scene even made Yu Shaoteng,who had a great experience,call it“too exciting”.

However,it was not expected that“added competition”became a label in her way forward.She competed with 6 opponents in the World Championship and was promoted from 4 added competition.Every time when Tan was pushed to the edge of a clif f,she could always convert the situation.Her strong psychological quality and strain capacity amazed other people.The semi-f nal was the most classic competition.Facing Harikkala,the Indian famous player,Tan Zhongyi lost but then won in the frst 25-minute speed chess; won and then lost in the 10-minute speed chess; in the 5-minute super-speed chess,she converted the situation stubbornly after being on the verge of collapse.With the calm and easiness energy f eld,as she completely overwhelmed the opponent’s psychological line of defense,her opponent was judged negative in the sudden death speed chess for a timeout.

When Tan Zhongyi staged a“play of added competition”again in the f nal,she defeated Muzychuk Anna,the world-famous Ukraine player for her skills in super speed chess.The whole world chess circle was impressed by this Chinese girl.“T an Zhongyi’s road to the championship could be called as the most thrilling one in these knockout games.Her calmness in the key competitions even amazed me.If she were me on this f eld,I am afraid that I could not do so well as she did.”Xie Jun,who had won the chess queen for four times,said.

It is not the first time for Tan Zhongyi to have such a calm and composed performance.In the 2016 42nd International Chess Olympic team event,she won the fourth gold medal with the unbeaten record,7 wins and 4 draws,helping the Chinese women team regain the title after 12 years.As Ye Jiangchuan,the headcoach of Chinese Chess Team,said,Tan Zhongyi had a special tenacity and spirit.“Many players might lose their passion and motivation at a certain period of time.However,Tan once talked to me that she wants to concentrate on playing chess for a long time,which is very worth learning for many young players.”

The long-term efforts are paid back with the World Champion

There are 4 chess queens before Tan Zhongyi in the Chinese chess team,especially the“genius girl”Hou Yifan,who had reached the peak for four times in her early twenties and reached to a level dif f cult for any other peer female players to go beyond.However,Tan Zhongyi never regards this“mountain”as a burden.Instead she always reserves her energy in accordance with her own rhythm.“Chess players need more accumulation,and I know clearly what I want.”

Such a calm and sober mind originates from her upbringing.When she started to learned the chess,her father,a sports fan,was meant to send her to the class of the game of go.As the class of the game of go was full,he had no choice but to send her to the class of chess.Unexpectedly,Tan was a heaven-born chess player and won the championship in the world age group of teenagers for three times when she was only 10,creating a record of the chess circle.At the 2016 All-China Games,after dozens of rounds,the 15-year-old Tan Zhongyi,the unexpected winner,defeated the chess queen Xie Jun in the overtime and became famous after this competition.

Perhaps the juvenile time was too smooth.When Tan Zhongyi entered into puberty,she once encountered with the growing pains,wondering outside of the main lineup in the national team.Once she asked Ni Hua,national men’s team captain,for the advice on the women’s weakness in the endgame.The secret of predecessors was one word: diligence.Therefore,Tan Zhongyi increased the amount of training and competition about 200 games not including the speed chess,to upgrade her chess skills.“As I know the story of ‘Pity Zhong Yong’,I would never let that thing happen on myself.”Tan Zhongyi kept telling to herself.

Tan Zhongyi had her first harvest season in 201 1.The women’s world championship had made her feel the competition among the world’s top players and aware of the climbing space for herself,since she had focused on the domestic competitions.She said,“I have already played super speed chess with Coach Ye for nearly 100 times,which has given me more experience and sense of the speed chess.”Ye Jiangchuan was very gratif ed on the diligence of Tan,“Tan is methodical and very aggressive on the speed chess.She could always come up with some clever tactics,which is inseparable with her usual practice.”

Thousand-li journey begins with the frst step.Tan Zhongyi’s longterm efforts are now paid back with the World Championship.Return from Tehran,f owers,honors and awards were fooding in.A special victory meeting was held for her by Shandong Jingzhi Liquor,giving her the expensive sapphire as a gift.But Tan’s mind was not disturbed by those things.“The tile of ‘chess queen’ does not mean a lot of changes to me and does not represent that I am stronger than any other players.I still have a lot to learn from others.”

She is not only a quiet and lofty girl before the chessboard,but also a girl with sense of humor when chatting with others.

In the eyes of people who are not familiar with her,Tan Zhongyi with concentrated attention before the chessboard would leave them an image with a quiet,lofty and steady girl.But in the chess circle,she is the joy of the people and a girl with sense of humor .When some familiar players or reporters meet her,they always like to tease her and warmly call her“Tan”.

With the daring and vigorous personality uniquely possessed by Chongqing girl,and yet warm and quiet,this seeming contradictory character of Tan has a special magic,making people want to be close to her.Whenever the camera is aimed at Tan on the court,she would never dodge.When chatting with her,she is outspoken and sometimes even teases herself,which is so funny that you cannot help laughing.“Can’t you see that I’m fat? That’s because I picked up the right clothes that day.I have to f nd a boyfriend with a bad eyesight and try not to see each other in summer.”When teasing herself,she is never softhearted.

Her free and straightforward personality is not re f ected in the way of getting along with people,but also integrated into the cognitive of chess.“Some people like to focus on one thing while some people want to see a dif ferent landscape,and I am the latter.I do not have so much ambition on playing chess.It would be OK if I could maintain a good state and make progress comparing with myself.”Tan Zhongyi admires Zhao Xue who is in her 30s and still adheres to her position in the chess playing.She said,“The capacities of little girls,born after 1995,now rise up very quickly.As the proverb says that no progress leads to the backwardness,I always tell myself to work harder.”

Tan Zhongyi is obsessed with her family.And everyday it took her less than 10 minutes to walk from home to the institution in Chongqing.After graduated from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in 2013,she gradually tried to do some work as a coach and do the promotion of chess in her hometown.“I am the pioneer and want to make some simple games.Rooting in the school,I want to leave some seed of the chess for my hometown.”Since non-Olympic games are not the mainstream,it is diff cult to promote on oneself only.Nevertheless,Tan is very f rm about this.“In fact,there is a big development space for chess.As long as someone is willing to do it,there will also be a lot of teenagers who choose to play chess some day in the future.”

In the heart of Tan Zhongyi,being awarded the title of chess queen is not the only dream.“The peak period of a female player is generally around 30 years old.I will make more ef forts in the future to go further on the road of chess.It would be the best for me to keep to the age of 35.”When it comes to this“small goal”,the spirit of“iron lady”recovers in her eyes,clear and steadfast eyes.
