very
如:very good/very quickly/very few people
very much
如:Thank you very much.(非常感谢。)
too
The coat is too big for him.(这件衣服对他来说太大了。)
too much
◆ A neighbor complained the kids were making too much noise.(有位邻居抱怨孩子们太吵了。)
◆ I can’t thank him too much.=I can’t thank him enough.
He gave me too much.
much too
如:much too heavy/much too slowly
a lot
amount。如:
◆ I’m feeling a lot better today.(我今天感觉好多了。)
◆ Thanks a lot for your help.(非常感谢你的帮助。)
◆ I care a lot about you.(我非常在乎你。)
quite
修饰无比较级形容词,如:quite right/quite wrong/quite perfect/quite sure
修饰动词,如:quite catch/quite know/quite follow/quite understand
修饰介词短语,如:quite by accident/quite out of mind
如:◆ He is quite a tall man.(他的个子相当高。)◆ It’s quite an expensive restaurant.(它是
rather
◆ It is rather cold today.(今天非常冷。)
◆ She is rather better today.(今天她好多了。)
◆ This is a rather moving story.=This is rather a moving story.(这是一个十分感人的故事。)
fairly
如:It is fairly warm.
a most +形容词
一般形容词最高级前面要用the,只有most前可用a,a most…
Dalian is a most beautiful city.(大连是座十分美丽的城市。)
extremely
◆ extremely difficult/extremely important
◆ It is extremely important.
badly/terribly
◆ I need your help badly as the deadline is around the corner.(因为最后期限快到了,我急需你的帮助。)
◆ Now I terribly need your help.(现在我急需你的帮忙。)
◆ He is badly in need of your praise.(他急需你的表扬。)
pretty
Things are looking pretty good.(形势看来很不错。)
heavily
It is raining heavily now.
so
如:Thank you so much.(十分感谢你。)
固定结构so…that 即“如此(so有“非常”的意思)……
如:Online shopping is so convenient that it has made our life more colorful.(网上购物非常方便,它让我们的生活变得更加多姿多彩。)
awful
I’ve got an awful headache.(我头疼得要命。)
