The China Abacus Museum in Nantong City is situated along the pleasant Haohe River. The exquisite and unique main buildings of the Museum are intricately arranged, interpreting the traditional spirit with modern architectural language and creating cultural landscape integrating abacus culture and south China delicacy. Its overall layout is designed with the principle of "main thread commanding the global", so that the buildings of each group echo each other and are intricately arranged to form spatial environment with the artistic conception of southern garden building. The buildings are set in a strong sense of wholeness. The elegant and calm colour tones of black, white and grey, the dark grey double-sloping roof, graceful white walls and the China black engraved line granite base wall are just like a graceful and elegant modern ink painting; the buildings are applied with virtual-true contrast techniques to treat the group space, and the natural blending of internal space and the natural environment are achieved by the infiltration of indoor and outdoor spaces and the changing of lights and shadows. A cultural symbol of Nantong, the Chinese Abacus Museum is constructed with modern materials and integrated into the urban space, and meanwhile it represents the cultural context in pursuit of the images of south China to create the artistic conception of elegant building and gardens.
