1.教学目标
知识目标: 通过本课的学习掌握can/could在表示邀请时的提问和相应的肯定与否定回答,同时学会用must和should描述party规则。
情感目标:了解感恩节我们应该要做什么,知道用情态动词礼貌地邀请他人是很重要的社交礼仪,并且知道在参加公共活动时遵守规则和秩序的重要性。
2.教学内容分析(和整合)
Unit 9 Can you come to my party? 这个单元的话题是参加party,语法重点是情态动词can表示邀请,以Thanksgiving Party为话题展开此课。上课当天是Thanksgiving Day, 所以,对于学生来说,这个话题是真实存在的,同时学生会对感恩节很有兴趣。
3.教学环节与活动
步骤一: Warming-up :生活中的情态动词。
按顺序在PPT中呈现这两个谚语,学生自由发言,谈谈他们对这个谚语的理解。
Friends must part. 天下无不散之筵席。
You never know what you can do till you try. 凡事试过才知道。
呈现完这两个句子后,继续告诉学生,情态动词不仅大量存在于谚语中,而且还在大量的歌曲中可以找到,希望学生接下来可以听歌曲找出里面的情态动词can/could+ 动词原形这个结构。
(1)When the heat of the rolling world ____ be turned away and enchanted moment and it sees me through.
It's enough for this restless warrior just to be with you and ____ you _____ the love tonight?

步骤二: Lead in
Part 1: 首先看一段关于感谢的视频,让学生猜他们为什么要唱这首歌,看完视频后,学生可以根据歌曲中的Thank you 来猜测出唱歌的目的是为了表达感谢。此时教师继续提问Why do they sing Thank you? Is it a special day? 学生继续可以回答出来 Thanksgiving day!教师继续提问:感恩节的食物是什么? Turkey. 感恩节的日期是? Nov. 26th.
教师和学生分享感恩节歌曲,听关于感恩节派对的对话并填词。

核对完答案之后,组织学生小组讨论can/ could的用法:

Part 2: 旨在让学生掌握用must/mustn’t, should/ shouldn’t描述party规则,并在情境中体会must比should的语气要更加强烈。
找规律:在刚才的听力中有两个学生可以去参加Party,他们要去Party需要遵守什么规则呢,他们应该做什么不应该做什么?请学生看图后完成句子。
(1)Students _________ arrive at the party before 7:00. We______________ be ________.
(2) Students _________________ drop litters, we _______ take out the trash after the party.
(3)Students _________ wear school uniforms. We______ wear our own clothes.
看图谈论完规则之后,小组讨论总结must和should:
谈论规则时:
(1)可以用________ 来表示“应该”,可以用_________来表示“不应该”。
(2)可以用_________来表示“必须”,可以用_________来表示“禁止”。
(3)____ 比________ 语气要强烈。
(4)should/ must 后接_________。
步骤三: 操练can, must, should的相关句型在实际生活中的应用。
通过幸运转盘这个小游戏,小组派代表在电脑上启动转盘,转到的分数为小组的得分,然后该小组合作完成和Thanksgiving Party有关的情景交际的句子。
(1)Luo Xiangyu wants to come to the party with Liu Jiankun, so he can ask Liu Jiankun:“_______________ to the party with me? ”
(2)Liu Jiankun wants to go, but he has to study for the test, so he can say: “_____, ___________________ .”
(3)On the thanksgiving party, Luo Xiangyu sees a nice girl for the first time, he had better introduce himself like this:______

步骤四: 文化渗透——Reading
旨在通过课本外的补充阅读,帮助学生了解西方的感恩节文化,让学生了解在西方国家的感恩节party上人们通常能做些什么?阅读后学生回答相关问题。
(1)What can people do to celebrate Thanksgiving?
People can enjoy turkey, give gifts, have a picnic.
(2)Must People go to work during the Thanksgiving Holiday?
They needn’t work.
(3)Can students stay at home during the Thanksgiving Holiday?
Yes, they can.
步骤五:Writing.(Output)
根据海报中松山湖Thanksgiving Party的通知,希望学生写一封邀请信,请他们最好的朋友来参加,并详细告知具体活动,注意事项等。
