本期“国际朋友圈”大家讨论了一个奇思妙想的话题—— “我想穿越”。

Spring is back, having brought everything under the sun into life. For this edition of “World Speaking”, we discussed a very unusual topic: “My transformation into a China’s character”.

“What China’s character would you like to transform into?”, “Why do you want to be this person?”, “After transformation, what would you do?” Let’s start our quaint journey from here!

李白

于嬿平：浪漫诗仙——李白

穿越理由：

李白是伟大的浪漫主义诗人，被后人称为“诗仙”。我很欣赏他的性格，爽朗大方。他热爱山河，游遍大江南北，在他一生中写出了很多赞美名山大川的美丽诗篇，而我也是个浪漫主义者。

穿越独白：

大家好，我是李白！你有没有读过我的诗歌？我的诗歌有没有给你带来画面感？你有没有体会到我的语言的美妙和情怀的浪漫？

现在是盛唐！我走遍天下，和不同的诗人交流！我和孟浩然、杜甫都是好朋友！我在长安城里喝酒，“君不见黄河之水天上来，奔流到海不复回！”他们都叫我“诗仙”、“酒仙”！

如果我穿越到了现代，我会用英语、法语、西班牙语、土耳其语，写下我胸中的诗篇，给全世界分享！

Deniz: Romantic genius of poetry – Li Bai

Reasons for transformation:Li Bai is a prominent poet of romanticism. His predecessors dubbed him a “poetic genius”. I admire his personality, very straightforward and liberal. He was fond of mountains and rivers, travelled through both south and north of the Changjiang River. During all his life, he wrote a plethora of beautiful poems praisingfamous mountains and great waters. Besides, I am a romantic person myself.

Monologue of Li Bai:Hello to everyone, I am Li Bai! Have you ever read my poems? Haven’t they left an impression on you of being very picturesque? Have you experienced the beauty of the language and the romance of the mood?

Now it’s Tang Dynasty! I wandered through the world, conversed with different poets! I am friends with Meng Haoran and Du Fu. I drank wine in the city of Chang’an, “see the waters of the Yellow River leap down from heaven, roll away into the deep sea and never turn again!” They called me “genius of poetry”, “master of wine”.

If I were to live in the modern era, I would write my poems in English, French and Spanish, and share them with the whole world!

彭淑艳：铁面无私——包青天

穿越理由：

我小时候看过《包青天》这部电视剧。包青天就是包拯, 他是一位非常公正、果断也很仁慈的官员，我非常欣赏他。我们现今的社会里需要这样公正廉明、果断智慧的官员。

穿越独白：

威——武——升堂！我是铁面无私的包青天。果断、理智、聪明，看到很可怜的百姓，我也会尽最大的努力去帮助他们。“铡美案”、“狸猫换太子”，这些案件，都是很精彩的断案。展昭和公孙策是我的左右手，公孙策可能比我更细心，展昭比我武功高，我会真心对待他们，团结他们。

我和福尔摩斯风格不同。我是以公正、果断又仁慈的方法判案，福尔摩斯是用精明和精确的推理去判案，我们各有千秋。

如果我穿越到了现在的社会，我会对腐败毫不留情,让贪污的官员们受到惩罚, 让那些有钱有势的坏人知道，天网恢恢，疏而不漏，现在的社会需要公正的人。

米沙：京味作家——老舍

穿越理由：

我特别喜欢老舍的作品，大学时候就读他的小说，特别喜欢《猫城记》。后来我来到中国，又看了他的别的作品，像《茶馆》、《四世同堂》，作为一个喜欢文学的留学生，我想穿越成为他。

彭淑艳，泰国留学生，目前就读于北京大学外国语学院Sueyean Sae Phang, foreign student from Thailand, now at School of foreign language of Peking University

Sueyean: impartial and incorruptible – Bao Qingtian Reasons for transformation:When I was little, I watched a series “Bao Qingtian”. Bao Qingtian is Bao Zheng, he is a very just, decisive, also very merciful off cial. I admire him so much. Our society needs an off cial like him, impartial and incorruptible, kind and wise.

Monologue of Bao Qingtian:Wei, wu, court is in session! I am the just and incorruptible Bao Qingtian. Kind, wise and savvy, I saw very pitiable citizens, I would do my best to help them. “Execution of the unfaithful lover”, “Leopard cat become a prince”are the perfect examples of settling a lawsuit. Zhan Zhao and Gong Sunce are my helpmates. Gong Sunce might be even more meticulous than I might, Zhan Zhao’s military abilities are bet-ter than mine are, I will treat them with all my frankness to unite them.

Me with Sherlock Holmes are different in character. I solve the cases using justness, mercy and kindness. Sherlock Holmes uses his shrewdness and precision to solve the lawsuits. Each of us has our own advantages.

If I were to live in the modern epoch, I would not tolerate corruption. I would f ne the corrupted off cials, and let those rich and privileged off cials know, nobody escapes the judgment of heaven. Our society needs a person like this.

穿越独白：

你们好，我是老舍！我年轻的时候在英国留过学，因此我也是一个留学生——和穿越之前的我一样。你们有没有看过我的小说，知不知道骆驼祥子？

作为穿越之后的老舍，我想做一些改变。

第一个改变，我知道，真正的老舍写的《大明湖》20万字的手稿，1932年，因为战火把印刷厂烧得精光，《大明湖》连手稿带排好的底版，全部葬身火海。穿越后的我，要提前把这部书稿转移出来，或者交给别的出版社。

第二个改变，真正的老舍在“文革”中受到恶毒的攻击和迫害，不堪屈辱，含冤自沉于北京太平湖。穿越后的我，会选择等待，忍辱负重，等待新的世界的到来，这样，我就会写出更多的优秀作品，而到了新世纪，我还会在新媒体上写作，成为一位知名的博主。

米沙，哈萨克斯坦留学生，目前就读于北京语言大学国际政治专业Mikhail Chursin, foreign student from Kazakhstan, now at Beijing Language and Culture University learning International Politics major

Mikhail: A writer with Beijing f avor – Lao She

Reasons for transformation:I admire literary works by Lao She. When I was at the university, I read his novels. I especially like “Cat Country”. After I came to China, I also read his other works, like “Tea House”, “The Yellow Storm”. As a foreign student loving literature, I would like to transform into Lao She.

Monologue of Lao She:Hello to everyone, I am Lao She! When I was young, I studied in England, I was a foreign student too, the same as before transformation. Have you ever read any of my novels, do you know the rickshaw boy?

杨爱萨，俄罗斯留学生，目前就读于北京语言大学国际经济与贸易专业Zavgorodnyaya Darya, foreign student from Russia, now at Beijing Language and Culture University learning International Trade and Economics major

After having transformed into Lao She, I would like to make some changes.

At f rst, I know, the real Lao She wrote “Daming Lake”, whichwas a script of 200,000 characters long, in 1932. However, the fire destroyed the publishing house, and manuscripts didn’t survive. If I were him, I would take the manuscripts with me, or probably send them to another publishing house.

The second change that I would initiate is the real Lao She came across vicious attack and persecution, could not bear the humiliation and hang himself in Taiping Lake of Beijing. If I were him, I would be patient and wait for the emergence of the new world. This was, I would have written more prominent works, and with the new epoch coming, I would also contribute to the new media and become a famous blogger.

杨爱萨：女中豪杰——花木兰

穿越理由：

我从迪斯尼动画《花木兰》里知道了这个女英雄。勇敢的木兰不愿年老的父亲上战场杀敌，就女扮男装代父从军的故事深深吸引着我。我很高兴我生活在和平的时代，但如果是战争年代，我一定不会害怕，我会为了保护自己的家人勇敢地去战斗。

穿越独白：

你们好！我是英姿飒爽的花木兰。我平静的生活因为一个决定而发生了改变。变得非常特别，变得非常精彩。我年迈的父亲竟被征召上战场，我决定——替父从军！

沙场上，我是一个勇敢的女孩子！经历了许多困难的训练与考验，我成为军中不可或缺的大将。我隐瞒着自己女孩子的身份，在一个都是男人的军队里坚强地锻炼自己。在战场上，我勇敢杀敌，保卫了自己的国家！我的家人为我倍感骄傲！（中文整理：吴星铎，英文整理：苏莉）

Darya: the female hero – Hua Mulan

Reasons for the transformation:I learnt about the heroine from Disney’s cartoon “Hua Mulan”. The brave girl didn’t want her old father to serve in the war. Her very courageous act of dressing into a man and becoming a soldier amazed me. I am so happy to live in the peaceful world, but if it were the war time, I wouldn’t be scared and would protect my family.

Monologue of Hua Mulan:Hello, everybody! I am mighty in spirit and heroic Hua Mulan. My serene life was disturbed by one decision that led to great changes in my life, making it so unique and bright. My old dad was called to war, and I stood up instead of him.

On the battlef eld, I was a very brave girl! I passed through bitter training and tests, and turned into a general. I concealed my identity, and courageously steeled myself in the all men’s army.
