The “Belt and Road” Initiative is intended to improve and advance the economic and trade relations between countries worldwide， including both overland and maritime dimensions. Guided by important principles such as connectivity， the Initiative contributes not only to world peace and stability but also to trade and people-to-people exchanges， provides supporting infrastructure for trade and investment， and helps to narrow development gaps. These will play an important role in achieving rapid and sustainable economic development， boosting export and increasing FDI， and promoting equitable development and inclusive growth among countries， thus reducing the difference and inequality in development.

Cambodia and other countries of the Greater Mekong have a long history of exchanges with China. We share the endowments of the Mekong River as well as peace，security， stability， history and a common destiny. It is fair to say that the first step of the “Belt and Road” Initiative is to make sure that countries of the Greater Mekong collaborate. We hope that relevant countries will help to promote the Initiative and take an active part in it. Cambodia is committed to working with countries and regions concerned to effectively implement relevant development plans and initiatives， including the “Belt and Road” Initiative， so as to attain the common goal of Asian countries， namely realizing the Asian Century and the Asian Dream.
