On October 16， 2015， member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice President of China， attended and addressed the closing ceremony of the Asian Political Parties' Special Conference on the Silk Road.

Under the theme “New Vision for the Silk Road， Actions for Common Development” and the three panel topics， delegates engaged in heated and fruitful discussions which yielded five major results.

First， the sense of community of common destiny is strengthened and amongst countries along the “Belt and Road”. As members of the same global village， we should foster a sense of a community of common destiny， stick together in time of difficulty and ensure that development in Asia and the rest of the world reaches new highs.

Second， the responsibilities of political parties and figures in providing political leadership and conducting dialogue and cooperation are reaffirmed. Political parties and statesmen should provide leadership in establishing common ground through exchanges and cooperation， and promote concrete cooperation across the board to bring more benefits of development to the people along the “Belt and Road”.

Third， the ideas of strategic integration of common development are established. The key in the joint and undertaking of building the “Belt and Road” lies in the integration of national strategies and the Initiative， which means identifying where the interests of different sides coverage and cooperation has best chances， so that all sides strive for common and the linked development.

Fourth， the potential ways forward through mutually beneficial corporation are examined. Countries along the“Belt and Road” should seize the opportunities created by the Initiative by planning development to lead to synergies where one plus one equals more than two.

Fifth， openness， inclusiveness and mutual learning are showcased. Adhere to the principles of mutual respect and equal treatment and the spirit of openness， inclusiveness，and seeking common ground while putting aside differences， so as to promote exchanges and dialogue among civilizations and countries with different development modes，and enable mutual learning through mutually beneficial cooperation.

The joint building of the “Belt and Road” requires concert efforts of political parties， businesses and media. We hope that political parties enhance policy communication and political mutual trust to forge a political consensus on the jointly building of the “Belt and Road”. We hope the business communities deepen concrete cooperation， create new highlights in cooperation， and explore new modes of cooperation， so as to achieve linked developments of countries along the “Belt and Road”. We hope that the media agencies take advantage of their extensive influences and closeness to the people to connect our peoples' hearts and minds， and spread positive energy to foster a sound media environment for the joint building of the “Belt and Road”.
