The 21st CIMFC:To explore a route for integration and development

The 21st China International Manmade Fiber Conference (CIMFC), sponsored by China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) and organized by China Chemical Fibers Association, China Textile International Exchange Center, Shengze Town Peoples Government and the China Eastern Silk Market Management Committee, was grandly staged in Jiangsu Shengze from September 7th to 9th, 2015.

Nearly 600 representatives from the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, CNTAC, and various professional associations, as well as the industry association leaders from US, EU, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, Chinese Taiwan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions; besides, there were well-known enterprises, research institutions, upstream and downstream industries, consulting firms and traders.

The 21st CMIFC was themed on “innovation-driven, integrative development– the main theme of the development of chemical fiber industry in the ‘New normal ” and focused on new strategies for the transformation and new initiatives for integrative development of global chemical fiber industry. The conference attached great importance to summarize the performance of the 12th Five-Year Program for chemical fibers and interpreted the key development points of its 13th Five-Year Program, further discussing the future development and long-term cooperation model of global chemical fiber industry as well as the latest technology and application development trends of chemical fibers and their upstream and downstream sectors.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Duan Xiaoping, President of China Chemical Fibers Association, and the former Vice President of CNTAC Mr. Xu Kunyuan gave a speech on behalf of the organizers, saying that the theme“innovation-driven, integrative development” was of great practical significance. According to Mr. Xu, in the future development, Chinas chemical fiber industry is required to put more emphasis on market research, upstream and downstream industrial chain, as well as research institutes cooperation and exchanges, and pay more attention to international cooperation and exchanges, the international market, in order to jointly promote the development of the global chemical fiber industry.

During the opening ceremony, Jiangsu Wujiang Committee Secretary Liang Yibo made welcoming remarks, pointing out that the spinning, weaving, and dyeing equipment in Shengze town is domestically in a leading position thanks to several rounds of technological transformation and equipment renewal. Shengze has been an important production base, export base, and products distribution center for Chinas textile industry. China Eastern Silk Market has enjoyed a turnover of over 100 billion for two consecutive years. Shengze has become Chinas largest chemical fiber fabric production base.

Professor Zhang Jianping from National Development and Reform Commission, Vice President Gao Yong from CNTAC, and Mr. Yu Jianyong from Chinese Academy of Engineering respectively made reports to the participants. In addition, leading industry executives from the United States, Japan, Europe and other countries and regions, as well as the worlds leading manufacturers and consulting agencies provided participants with cutting-edge information on global fiber development.

The conference was featured with a development forum and eight thematic forums including nearly 70 wonderful reports in various forms and of rich content, presenting the latest achievements of the worlds chemical fiber industry in various related fields.
