NPC & CPPCC Sessions 2015

The third session of the 12th National Peoples Congress（NPC） began in Beijing on March 5， 2015. At the opening meeting， Chinese Premier Li Keqiang delivered the government work report and gave an overview of the 2015 work plan. The ten-and-a-half-day session reviewed a draft amendment to the countrys Legislation Law. Lawmakers have now set the stage for an important year in Chinas efforts to deepen reforms and promote the rule of law. Under the conditions of the new normal， financial reforms aim to balance steady growth and economic re-structuring. Environmental protection was high on the agenda. On a global scale， the ambitious Belt and Road Initiatives represent Chinas top global development strategy in the coming years.

The third session of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese Peoples Political Consultative Conference （CPPCC） began in Beijing on March 3， 2015. Members of the CPPCC National Committee discussed major topics during the elevenday session concerning the countrys development. Issues that drew particular attention included rural areas， agriculture， and farmers； the benefits of collaborative development； and institutionalizing anti-corruption efforts.endprint
