让《新概念英语》走进英语课堂

《新概念英语》每一课根据中国读者的需要,增添了词汇表、课文注释、课文的参考译文、摘要写作、练习(包含一篇仿写训练)等,并配上了全新的练习和插图,内容也更加简洁精炼。

下面以我在初一(1)班进行《新概念英语》第二册Lesson 1 “A private conversation”阅读课为例进行说明。

1. Warming up(5 minutes)

我用多媒体投影一幅电影院的图片,让学生猜这是什么建筑物。(小组竞赛,答对加分)学生争着给出的答案是:meeting-room,a big hall,cinema,theatre.当我给出答案后,得分的学生非常开心。接着,我给学生30秒让他们记忆上面词汇。

然后向学生提出导向性问题:1)Have you ever been to Xinhua Theatre in Huadu? 2)What can you see in the theatre?学生们给出各种各样的答案,最后我着重强调其中一个句子:There are a lot seats in it.

接着又给出一个问题:What are the seats like?学生回答:beautiful,soft,stand in lines. 我再引导他们得出一些完整的句子:There are a lot soft seats in lines at the theatre. The seats are close together. If someone are talking,the other people wont hear the actors clearly.

2. Quick reading and finish

(1) Did the writer have a good time in the theatre? Why? (2 minutes)

(2) Match the words with the Chinese meaning.(2 minutes)

3. While reading(6 minutes)

让学生略读(skimming)后回答以下问题:(1)Where did the writer go last week?(2)Did he enjoy the play or not?(3)Who was sitting behind him?(4)Were they talking loudly or quietly?(5)Could the writer hear the actors or not?(6)Did he turn round or not?(7)What did he say?(8)What did the young man say?

5分钟后,我马上检查学生的阅读情况并进行阅读技巧的点拨:快速阅读要注意题目和首、尾句。阅读回答问题后,我让学生把这8道题目的答案串连起来,有什么新的发现?“We are retelling the story.”我又进行缩写文章方法的点拨:善于抓住几个特殊疑问词来陈述: who,when,where,what,how,why.

接着出示下一项练习:Fill in the blanks (5 minutes):

(1)I had a good seat at the

t last week.

(2)The play was very I.

(3)A young man and A young woman were talking l.

(4)I could not b it.

(5)Its none of your b,this is a private c!

4. Post-reading(10minutes)

(1)Listen to the tape,find some wonderful sentences.

(2)Complete the dialogue.(拓展性练习)

Situation: Your theatre ticket is P14 (Row P,Seat 14). A stranger is sitting in your seat by mistake. His ticket is Q14. Write the missing parts of the dialogue.

You:

Stranger: Yes,it is.

Ask if he may see his ticket:

Stranger: Certainly.

Tell him what his ticket is:

Tell him what your ticket is:

Tell him this is your seat:

Stranger: Oh,Im sorry. I should be in the seat behind.

Say its all right:

Stranger: Ill go there at once.

Thank him warmly:

当学生掌握一定的阅读技巧后,我把阅读推向另一个高潮,给出另外一篇文章,要求学生Free reading(teamwork)(15 minutes).Task1:Find out new words,wonderful sentences.(2 minutes) Task 2:One of groups report what they have read(Free talk). (8 minutes)同学们马上小组合作,分享阅读带来的乐趣。

通过这样的阅读方式,我对初一(1)班进行了一个学期的训练,学生的阅读量达到38篇,词汇量增加了,不仅提高了阅读能力、写作水平、对语言的综合运用能力,关键是培养了阅读技巧,并形成了阅读习惯。
