Fangchenggang City is located at the coast and border junction at the southwest end of China mainland coastline. It is the Joint Point of the Economic Circle of Southwest China, the Economic Circle of the Pan-Pearl River Delta and the ASEAN Economic Zone. Fangchenggang’s jurisdiction area includes Port District, Fangchenggang District, Shangsi County and Dongxing City (county-level) with 24 towns, 2 sub-district offices, 282 village committees and 40 neighborhood committees.
An International Passage Hub
As the only city in China bordering the ASEAN countries by sea, water and land, Fangchenggang has its geographical advantages, hence becoming the most convenient gateway city and the thoroughfare to the ASEAN countries from China’s inland hinterland.
The China Railway High-speed from Nanning to Fangchenggang City connects the National railway network. Its expressway stretching to Nanning City, Qinzhou City and Chongzuo City connects to the national expressway network and links highways in Vietnam to its west by Dongxing Port and then connects the Pan-Asian road system. Dongxing City, under the jurisdiction of Fangchenggang City, connects Mong Cai City, the largest special economic zone in North Vietnam, by a river. Fangchenggang Port is the largest in West China and one of China’s 12 major hub ports along the coast.
Ports with Handling Capacity of 100 Million Tons
As a port city, Fangchenggang has a lot of advantages such as a natural harbor with deep water, harbor of refuge with little deposition, and a coastline as long as 106.3 kilometers. This is suitable for building ports with over 200 deep-water berths of 10,000-ton handling capacity. The total potential cargo handling capacity of these ports is over 1 billion tons. At present, it has 115 berths. The city has navigation ties with over 250 ports in more than 100 countries and regions. In 2012, its handling capacity hit over 100 million tons, accounting for nearly 60% of the total of Guangxi coastal ports.
Dongxing Key Experimental Zone for Development and Opening-up
Dongxing Key Experimental Zone for Development and Opening-up lies in the southwest of Guangxi, connecting the Beibu Gulf to the south with a coastline of 580km and bordering Vietnam to the southwest with a borderline of 100 km. In this 1,226-sq-km experimental zone, everything is on the way of rapid development. Per capita GDP, per capita fiscal revenue, and per capita income of urban and rural residents rank among the top in Guangxi. It has won the titles of a model city for scientifi c urban development, model city for economic transformation and one of the top 10 Chinese cities for improving the people’s livelihood.

Project description: The project plans to produce 4,000 nuclear grade ball valves and 4,000 nuclear grade butterfly valves annually.
