On July 20, merely 12 days after the fifth group of Central Discipline Inspection Commission notified Tianjin Municipal Government of their investigation results, the Central Discipline Inspection Commission announced that Wu Changshun,Director of Tianjin Municipal Public Security Bureau and Vice-President of Tianjin Peoples Political Consultative Conference, was under internal investigation.

According to an informant with authority, Wu Changshun was placed under investigation for taking massive bribery. Related authorities have examined his personal assets which were found to be worth over 100 million yuan, although the authorities havent confirmed the number yet.

Wu Changshun was born in January 1954 in Tianjin. He spent his entire political career in Tianjin and has served in the public security system of this city for 44 years. From a normal traffic police officer, he made it all the way to the positions of the director and CPC chief of Municipal Public Security Bureau, which is a rare case in the system.

A person familiar with the case said that during the years serving in the public security system, Wu Changshun constantly abused the power in hand and seeking for personal gains. Most of the sectors he was involved in illegally were easily neglected by others, such as parking space and road barrier management.
