Miao Hua Former regional deputy political commissar promoted to greater region’s commander

With the Army Day coming on August 1, the Peoples Liberation Army made intensive personnel changes in the past month.

On the afternoon of July 11, the Central Committee of the CPC Military Commission held an admiral general ranking ceremony in Beijing. Qi Jianguo, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Wang Jiaocheng, Shenyang Military Region Commander, Chu Yimin, Political Commissar and Wei Liang, Guangzhou Military Regions Political Commissar, together received their letters of appointment from President Xi Jinping.

By now, except Beijing and Shenyang Military Regions, the other five regions all have been reported to have the promotion ceremonies for top-ranking officers. The navy and armed police department also had the ceremonies respectively.

By now, 16 people have been promoted to Vice Admiral, and 9 to greater military regions commander and above. Among them, Miao Hua is going to replace retiring Li Changcai and take the post of Political Commissar of Lanzhou Military Region.

Miao Hua included, there will be 4 post-1955 operation commanders in the seven military regions of China. The other three were Jinan Military Region Commander Zhao Zongqi, Nanjing Military Region Political Commissar Zheng Weiping and Chengdu Military Region Political Commissar Zhu Fuxi.
