Xu Minjie Vice-general Manager of COSCO Expelled from the Party

On June 9, the Supervision Department of Central Discipline Inspection Commission announced on its website that the Discipline Inspection Commission under State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) was carrying on an investigation against Xu Minjie, a former member of the Party Leadership Committee and vice-general manager of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO).
According to investigation results, Xu Minjie has been illegally reimbursing his personal expense, which is a serious violation of laws and disciplines. With the approval of SASAC Party Committee, COSCO has decided to expel Xu Minjie from the Party.
Pubic documents show that Xu Minjie joined COSCO in 1980 and successively served as the captain, department manager and vice-general manager of COSCO Shanghai, general manager of COSCOs shipping department and general manger of COSCO Pacific. From February 2011, Xu Minjie started to serve as a member of the CPC Committee of COSCO as well as its vice-general manager.
According to his former subordinates, as a Shanghai native, Xu Minjie is very polite and astute. He is a leader with a broad vision and high level of competence.
Before getting expelled, Xu Minjie was reported to be under investigation for several times. Informant believes that the Discipline Inspection Commission received a tip-off about Xu Minjie.
Being expelled from the CPC is just the organizations internal decision of punishment for Xu Minjie. For his other law violation actions, the justice department will take over the investigation.
