Duan Jianguo Former Transportation Director of Shanxi Province Expelled from the Party and Government

On June 15， the Supervision Department of Central Discipline Inspection Commission announced on its website that Duan Jianguo， former transportation director of Shanxi Province， was under investigation for suspected serious violation of laws and disciplines.

According to investigation results， Duan Jianguo was negligent of his duty and caused great losses to the state when he was the director of the provincial transportation department. He also abused his rights and took huge bribes from others.

According to related laws and regulations， Duan Jianguo has already been expelled from the Party and government. The authority has confiscated more than 16 millions yuan， 50 thousand US dollars， 5 thousand euros and the golden bars worth 0.34 million yuan. The justice department will launch the investigation into his law violation action later.

Duan Jianguo， 58 years old， was born in Hongtong County of Shanxi Province. After graduating from Chinese Language and Literature Department of Shanxi University， he successively served as the Deputy Secretary-general and Economic Research Center Supervisor of Shanxi Provincial Government. In April， 2008， Duan Jianguo took over the post as the Shanxi provincial transportation director as a successor to Wang Xiaolin.

On September 29， 2013， Duan Jianguo was dismissed from his post in Shanxi， right before his supposed retirement. Him included， there were totally seven officials in Shanxi transportation system investigated and punished for serious discipline violation this year.
