Manufacture of Butadiene through Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Butylene Developed by Wison Engineering Co.
The Wison Engineering (China) Company, Ltd. has announced that it has successfully developed a new technology for manufacturing butadiene through oxidative dehydrogenation of butylene following the completion of PDP for a 75 kt/a butadiene unit.
This company on the basis of traditional B-02 ironseries catalysts has developed independently novel catalyst with superior performance that can achieve a single-pass conversion and a single-pass yield exceeding those of traditional technology by 3%—4% and 2%—3%, respectively, and the capacity of a single production line can reach 100 kt/a of butadiene. In the meantime, the product separation section adopts the NMP extractive rectification technique, which can significantly reduce the investment cost and energy consumption. Furthermore, this technology also boasts the specific features concerning the reactor technology suited for mass production, the recycle of wastewater discharged from process unit, and the online regeneration of catalysts.
