SOME汉译初探

Some是英语单词中最常用的词汇之一，它兼有形容词、副词和代词的词性。其句法功能为：常在句中作定语、主语或宾语，由于some这个词的用法比较复杂，所以，汉译时要根据具体情况灵活处理，不一而足。现将some的一些汉译法试述如下：

1.some与可数名词单数连用，表示因情况不明的某人某物，或说话人不愿具体说出的人或事物时，常译作：“某一”、“某个”等。例如：

He went tosome place in the south.

他到南方某地去了。

There is some girl at the soor who wants to see you.

门口有个姑娘想见你。

I have read it in some book.

我在某本书里读到过它。

2.some与可数名词复数连用，用于肯定句中，表示不定的数目。用于否定句中，表示部分否定。用于疑问句中而又期望得到肯定的回答，或用于条件句时，常译作：“一些”、“某些”、“有些”等。例如：

I have some English books.

我有一些英语书。

I don’t knowsome people in the room.

屋子里有些人我不认识。

Will you buysome books?

你要买书吗？

If you want anybooks,I shall lend you some.

你若要书的话，我就送你几本。

3.some与不可数名词连用。表示若干部分时，常译作：“一点儿”“少许”等。例如：

Give me some money,please?

给我点儿钱，好吗？

You have tolearn some English.

你得学点英语。

4.some作为代词，常译作“一些人（物）”“有些人（物）”“一些”。例如：

Some of the students were early and some of themwere late.

有些学生早到了，有些则来晚了。

Some answered “Yes”and some answered“No”.

有些人回答“是”，有些人回答“不是”。

Some of it is good.

其中一些是好的。

Some of the books are veryuseful.

这些书当中有些是很有用的。

5.作为副词，some与数词连用时，表示概数，常译作：“大约”“左右”等。例如：

There were some 40 or 50 people there.

大约有四、五十人在那里。

It is some 30 tons in wight.

重30吨左右。

We waited some 20 minutes.

我们等了20分钟左右。

6.在美国英语的口语和英国英语的俚语中，some 常译作“稍微”“很”“非常好”“了不起”等。例如：

I amfeelingsome better today.

我今天觉得稍好些。

That is goingsome.

那很不错。

This is some book.

这是一本很好的书。

Her father is some scientist.

他父亲是一位了不起的科学家。

7.带有“some”的一些常用词组的译法：

（1）and then some 常译作：“至少”、“更多一些”等。例如：

It would cost all the money he had and then some.

那将至少需要他拿出全部勇气。

（2）some day 译作：“改天”“他日”“总有一天”等。例如：

Some dayI shall gothere.

改天我将去那里。

（3）some dayor other译作：“迟早”。例如：

XiaoWangwill come some dayor other.

小王迟早会来这儿的。

（4）some of these days 译作：“不久”“有一天”。例如：

I am going to do that driving some of these days.

不久我就会开车了。

（5）some more译作：“再来一些”。例如：

Give us some more examples,please.

请再给我们举些例子。

Would you like some more tea?

再来点茶好吗？

（6）some…orother译作：“某一”“某些”。例如：

I must have seen himin some where or other.

我准是在某个地方见过他。

He is stayingwith some or other in the country.他目前正与某些朋友住在乡下。

（7）some one or other译作：“某人”“有某个人”。例如：

Some one or other said so.

有某个人这样说过。

（8）some…and other译作：“有的…有的…”“有些…有些…”。例如：

Some studyEnglish and others studyRussian.有的人学英语，有的人学俄语。

（9）in some way or other译作：“想办法”“设法”。例如：

You would doit in some wayor other.

你应当设法去做。

（10）some time 译作：“一会儿”“一些时间”。例如：

I was there for some time.

他已等了一会儿了。

（11）some kind of译作：“某种”。例如：

It looks like some kind of plant.

他看上去像某种植物。

（12）some few(little)译作“少许”“几个”“一点”等。例如：

Some fewof themknowEnglish.

他们中有少数人懂英语。

He has some fewEnglish books.

他有几本英语书。

There is some little water in the bottle.

瓶子里还有点水。

8.some与某些词构成的常用复合词：

Somebody(=someone)有人

Somehow(=someway)不知怎么地、以某种方法

Someplace(=somewhere)某处

Sometime(=somewhen)某时以前

Sometimes有时、不时

Someday改日、有朝一日

Something某事、某物

Somewhat有点、略微
