Shanxi Rural Grid Upgrading Will Need 1.75 Billion Yuan in Investment in 2011

The feasibility report for a new round of rural grid upgrading project in Shanxi Province in 2012 has successfully passed review and examination. According to the report, in 2012 Shanxi Rural Grid Upgrading Project will need an investment of 1.75 billion yuan, covering 11 power supply branches, 98 counties (cities, districts) across the province, it will newly build and upgrade three 110 KV substations, 569 pole-towers, about 2.6 km long line; 42 35KV substations, and about 385.7km line; 4860 10KV distribution transformers, 2848.9 km in line. It will upgrade 2910 km of low voltage lines, and upgrade household power meters for 500,000 households. Furthermore, in the 10 KV and below upgrading project, about 90 million yuan will be allocated to upgrade farm and forest farm grids.
