Rapid Development of High Speed Railway in China Drives the Demand for Copper
From June 21 to 23 in 2011,the largest copper exhibition in Asia,CuChina2011,will be held in Shanghai. The exhibition is co-sponsored by China Nonferrous Metal Processing Industry Association,China Machinery Industry Federation and Zhenwei Exhibition Group Beijing branch. In addition to providing a platform for communication and launching the latest equipments and technologies, the exhibition will pay special attention to the ten industrial hotspots, copper products application in high speed railway, resource recycling and environment friendly material production techniques ,just to name a few.
It is estimated that the exhibition will be even larger in scale, with the exhibition area of 20,000 square meters and tens of thousands of visitors.
In addition, industrial insiders will have exchanges and discussions on ten hot issues such as the production and development of the lead frame material, continuous extrusion technology, brass disc production and copper foil production technology and equipment. The highlevel specialized side events include ChinaNonferrous Metals Processing Equipment and Copper Processing Technology Forum,Sino-Japanese Copper Exchange Meeting,2011 China Copper Industry Technology Innovation Awards Ceremony and Shanghai Scrap Metal Summit.
2010 was the year for rapid development of Chinese high-speed railway.China-made highspeed trains Hexie Hao broke the world record of the highest operating speed. The national railway for high-speed train runs a total of 8,358 kilometers, ranking no.1 in the world. In 2011,the high-speed trains will form a national network, with the operating length of railway breaking 13,000 kilometers and new investment of RMB 700 billion Yuan. This is definitely good news for domestic supporting enterprises for the high-speed railway industry.
High-speed train lead production and installation is crucial. At the expo, several big domestic copper lead manufacturers will give a comprehensive demonstration on the high-speed train demands for copper and on issues in the lead production based on their own experience.
It is worth mentioning that alloy with high strength and high conductivity is widely used in OCS of the electrified railway to ensure safe and high-speed operation and the possibility of continuous speed increase. In recent years, alloy with high strength and high conductivity is increasingly hot on the market. The expo will invite experts from Japan to discuss with Chinese vendors the status quo of chromium, zirconium and copper production in Japan and production techniques and market growth of alloy with high strength and high conductivity.
With the development of science and technology and more awareness of environmental issues, environmental standards on production material and technology are stricter.Since lead brass was found to be detrimental to human health and environment, governments have introduced orders on restrictive use of the lead brass.US,EU and Japan have tough rules on lead content in the copper alloy and leaching amount in drinking water.
It is said that a new kind of brass that is environmental friendly, easy to cut and free from lead developed by Chinese enterprise meets the latest environmental standards in the US and Europe and has successfully entered the US and European market for bathroom products and drinking water system.
To promote the development of eco-friendly alloy,CuChina2011 will bring the latest news about production and application of the ecofriendly alloy, such as its application in bathroom products and manufacturing.Japan Copper and Brass Association will introduce the latest development of eco-friendly alloy research in Japan.
