Gloom and sorrow overshadowedmy heart on each day I spentin Sichuan Province coveringthe earthquake. My eyes wereconstantly wet at the sight of death andmisfortune. Nonetheless, on May 18, as Iwas about to conclude my interviews in theearthquake-stricken region, I experienceda strong shock to my soul at West ChinaHospital in Chengdu, capital city of theprovince.
