The Secret to Growth

I remember a dedication activity in my primary school. A teacher gave guidanceto four student representatives. One of the girls didnt keep an open mind. At that time，the teacher smiled and asked her， “When you pour the water in the teapot into theteacup， can the teacup be placed above the teapot？”The girl shook her head and said， “Definitely not.”The teacher said， “So you know this truth！ When a person islearning， he should humbly lower himself like a teacup， so that he can absorb thewisdom and experience of others.”

So what tips do we need to guide us as we grow up？

Steve Jobs once said，“Stay hungry. Stay foolish.”I think“staying hungry”is aself-driven pursuit of a goal， and“staying foolish”is an attitude.

British supermodel Lily Cole， who rose to fame at the age of 17. However， shetook off her heavy makeup and studied hard. In just three years， she received adegree in art history from University of Cambridge， graduating with a double first.

I believe that all the great people became great because they were willing tolearn and worked very hard. This is the secret we need to grow up.

成長的秘诀

记得在我小学时的一次献词活动中，一位老师对四名学生代表进行指导。其中一个女生不太虚心。当时，那位老师笑着问她：“你把茶壶的水往茶杯里倒时，茶杯能放在茶壶上面吗？”那位女生摇摇头说：“肯定不行。”老师说：“原来你懂得这个道理啊！人在学习的时候，就要像茶杯一样虚心地放低姿态，才能吸纳别人的智慧和经验。”

那么，我们在成长过程中，需要哪些秘诀指引我们呢？

史蒂夫·乔布斯曾说过：“求知若饥，虚心若愚。”我想，“求知若饥”是自我驱动的对目标的奋斗追求；“虚心若愚”则是一种态度。

英国超模莉莉·科尔17 岁成名。然而，她褪去浓妆，潜心苦读。仅三年，她攻下了剑桥大学艺术史学位，并以双科第一的成绩毕业。

我想，那些伟大人物之所以伟大，是因为他们都乐于进取和努力。这就是我们所需的成长秘诀。
