（一）
A boy tells his friend， “The food was terrible at summer camp this year. Myfirst day there， I threw mine in the lake. I got a big surprise when the fish didntthrow it back.”
一个男孩和他的朋友说：“今年夏令营的食物太糟糕了。我在那里的第一天就把我的饭菜扔到了湖里。当时鱼没把它扔回来，我还大吃一惊呢。”
（二）
Two kids are talking.
Bill： You should have been with me this summer at camp. We had a lot ofhard times with skunks1.
Tina： How do they smell？
Bill： They smell like our P.E. class！ But I never changed clothes once thissummer at camp and you know what？ To the end of the season， the skunks ranaway from me.”
兩个孩子在聊天。
比尔：今年夏天你应该和我一起去露营。我们和臭鼬相处得很艰难。
蒂娜：它们闻起来什么味儿？
比尔：闻起来就像我们体育课上的味道！但今年夏天我在夏令营从来没有换过一次衣服。你知道吗？直到这个季节结束，臭鼬见到我就绕道走。”

Elmer： Hey， George. Did you hear about the tire2 that had a nervousbreakdown3？
George： No. Tell me about it.
Elmer： It just couldnt take any more pressure4！

Mary： My mother really talked to the airplane pilot when we got on the plane.
Tom： Really？ What did she talk about？
Mary： Oh， she just told him not to go faster than sound because she and Iwanted to talk a lot.
玛丽：当我们上飞机的时候，我妈妈真的和飞行员交待过了。
汤姆：真的吗？她说了什么？
玛丽：哦，她只是叫他不要飞得超过音速，因为她想和我好好聊聊天。

Two kids were walking home from school.
“What should we do tonight？”Eric asked.“
Lets flip a coin5，”said Jenny.“If it comes up head， we will go to the movies.If it comes up tail6， well play ping-pong. If it stands on edge7， well study.”
两个孩子从学校步行回家。
“我们今晚该干嘛？”埃里克问道。
“让我们掷硬币决定吧。”珍妮说，“如果是人头这一面，我们就去看电影。如果是字的一面，我们就去打乒乓球。如果它水平竖立着，我们就去学习。”

Jonas： Did you hear about the farmer who ran a steamroller8 over his field9 ofpotatoes？
Adam： No. Not a word.
Jonas： Well， he thought hed get much smashed10 potatoes.

亚当：没有。完全没听说过这种事。
