It’s a day that reminds（提醒）people to reduce damage and protect the Earth. Chinese people celebrate this festival from 1990s. Themes（主题） of this special day is different every year in our country. Things we can do

There are many ways to honor（尊敬） the Earth on its special day. Here are some pieces of advice that you can follow.

How do you go to school every day？ Maybe some of you go to school by car. You can walk or ride a bike. It is also good for our health. Buses or shared-bikes are also good choices.

There are many kinds of plastic things in our daily life， such as plastic bottles， plastic bags. What can you do with these plastic products（产品）？ You can reuse（再利用） the plastic bottles to drink or store（储存） small things. You can also use less plastic bags or boxes. Besides that（除此之外）， you can use cloth bags instead of（代替） plastic bags， and use glass boxes instead of plastic boxes.

In China， we have the “Clear your plate” campaign（“光盘”行动）. This means you should eat everything on your plate or take away the leftovers（剩菜剩饭）. You may see some leftovers in the fridge at home. It’s very likely that your parents will throw them into the rubbish bin（垃圾桶）. You can tell your parents not to cook too much food. Don’t buy too many things in the supermarket. Finish your food before it goes bad.
