高中英语读后续写的课堂教学实践

读后续写是高中英语教学中一种重要的写作训练方式,要求学生根据所给的文本材料进行续写,能够培养学生的阅读理解能力与写作表达能力。因此,在高中英语教学中,应不断探索读后续写的教学方式,以此提升学生的阅读与写作能力。本文以The Million Pound Bank Note为例,探讨高中英语读后续写的课堂教学实践,对教学内容进行深入研究,加强学生对故事情节与人物的分析,以此提升高中英语综合教学效率。
一、背景介绍
The Million Pound Bank Note是一部著名的短篇小说,作者是马克·吐温。故事讲述了美国小伙子亨利·亚当斯的经历。亨利·亚当斯因为一次偶然的机会获得了一张无法兑现的百万英镑大钞。在等待两名富家兄弟的盘问中,他遇到了不同社会阶层的人,包括富人、穷人、绅士、骗子等。在这个过程中,他了解了社会的各种丑恶,逐渐认识到自己的价值。最终,亨利·亚当斯凭借自己的聪明才智与百万英镑的大钞,改变了自己的命运。
二、教学目标
在教学中,教师应有效引导学生分析The Million Pound Bank Note的故事情节与人物特点,让学生掌握读后续写的基本技巧和方法,并能够运用所学知识续写一篇符合故事情节和人物特点的短文。
1.掌握The Million Pound Bank Note的故事情节、人物特点、语言风格和写作技巧。
2.能够运用所学知识,理解并分析故事情节和人物特点,提高阅读理解和写作表达能力。
3.培养学生对文学作品的欣赏与批判性思维,增强学生对英语语言文化的兴趣。

三、利用问题引导学生阅读
在阅读The Million Pound Bank Note之前,教师先让学生了解马克·吐温的生平与作品风格,以及小说的时代背景与社会环境,促使学生更好地理解故事情节与人物形象。教师通过问题、讨论等方式引导学生阅读,激发学生的学习兴趣与思考能力。

生:The Million Pound Bank Note had a significant impact on the fate of Henry Adams, changing Henrys life trajectory and path. He was originally an penniless American youth with no major goals in life, living a plain and indifferent life. But the sudden wealth gave him more life choices and opportunities.
生:This wealth also brings many additional issues and responsibilities. Henry needs to face the problem of how to handle and manage this huge sum of money, while also dealing with the social attention and various changes in interpersonal relationships brought by this wealth. This is not only a test of his wisdom, but also a test of his character and values.
四、分析人物形象与情节发展
在阅读过程中,教师引导学生分析小说中的人物形象和情节发展。
师:Who do you think is the most important character in the story?Why?Or what unexpected things happen in the story? What impact does it have on the plot development?
結合问题的设置与引导,教师引导学生更好地理解小说中的人物形象与情节发展,为后续的写作打下基础。
生:Henry unexpectedly encountered a million pound bank note that could not be redeemed while wandering. Influence: This led to a dramatic transformation in Henrys life, becoming a wealthy but unidentified mysterious figure, triggering a series of subsequent storylines.
生:After receiving a million pound bank note, Henry was initially mistaken as a fraud by two wealthy brothers, but was eventually misunderstood and clarified, and formed a deep friendship with the two brothers. Influence:this makes Henrys character image more three-dimensional, while also showcasing his personal charm and unique qualities. Highlighted the attitudes and values of wealthy brothers towards wealth and interpersonal relationships.
五、确定写作主题与思路
在阅读完The Million Pound Bank Note之后,教师引导学生确定写作主题与思路。
师:If you were Mark Twain, what kind of ending would you give to this story?Or what do you think is the theme of this story?What are the inspirations for you?
生:After Henry Adams became a wealthy gentleman, he did not intoxicated in luxury and pleasure. In contrast, he gained a deeper understanding of the meaning and value of life. He began to actively participate in social welfare undertakings, using his wealth and influence to help those in need.
生:Henry realized that wealth is not everything in life, and true happiness and satisfaction came from caring and helping others. He began to devote himself to promoting social justice and equality, advocating the importance of morality and education.
生:Henrys relationship with the two wealthy brothers has also further developed. They jointly established a charity foundation aimed at helping children who were unable to receive good education and living conditions due to poverty and helplessness.
在理解故事情节与人物特点的基础上,学生确定写作主题,包括人物性格的转变、情节的发展、故事的转折等。学生选择一个与原故事相关且具有吸引力的主题,在确定写作主题后,拓展思路,为续写提供更多的素材与灵感,思考人物在故事中的成长、变化,及情节的转折、发展等。结合自己的生活经验与情感体验,为续写注入个人特色。在确定主题和拓展思路后,学生搭建逻辑框架,为续写提供清晰的写作结构,根据故事情节的发展与人物性格的转变设计合理的情节发展与转折点,使续写内容与原故事保持紧密联系。
六、开展写作实践
在确定写作主题和思路之后,教師引导学生进行写作实践。学生根据自己的想法与故事情节的发展进行自由写作。教师给予学生适当的指导,提供写作技巧、例句等。在The Million Pound Bank Note的读后续写中,学生基于原文的故事情节和人物特点进行合理的想象,完成一篇符合故事逻辑与人物性格的短文。
(一)语言运用
学生在续写过程中,运用恰当的语言表达自己的思想与情感,掌握基本的语法和词汇,能够清晰、准确地表达自己的意思。注意语言的流畅性与连贯性,可以使续写更加自然、流畅。

(二)情节发展
学生在续写过程中,遵循故事情节的发展逻辑,使续写内容与原文意思保持一致。根据人物性格和故事背景,设计合理的情节发展,使整个故事更加完整、连贯。
续写范例:
Henry demonstrated his wisdom, courage and kindness in dealing with these issues. He was not blinded by wealth, but was acutely aware of the responsibilities and obligations which brought him. He decided to use this wealth to contribute to the well-being of himself and others. Henry began to actively participate in social welfare undertakings, using his wealth and influence to help those in need. He established a charity foundation to provide education and medical assistance for impoverished children. He also actively participates in environmental protection, promoting urban greening and sustainable development.
(三)人物塑造
续写应尽可能地延续人物的性格特点。原文中,主人公是一个善良、勇敢的人,因此,在续写中,行为与言语也应体现出此特点,保持故事的一致性和连贯性。原文中的人物关系是怎样的,在续写中,可以进一步发展此类关系。续写中,加强主人公与其他人物之间的关系,可以使他们之间的互动与对话更加丰富,使故事更加生动有趣。
原文中的人物可能有所成长,可以在续写中得到反映。主人公在经历了一系列事情后,可能变得更加成熟、理智,此种成长可以通过行为与言语表现出来。因此,在续写中,可以进一步挖掘人物的内心世界。主人公的内心想法与感受在续写中得到体现,可以使人物更加立体、丰满,因此,可以通过人物的内心世界反映整个故事的主题和意义。
续写范例:
During this process, Henrys relationship with the two wealthy brothers also further developed. They went from initial misunderstandings and distrust to later working together towards charity. Their friendship deepened through mutual support and care.
(四)主题深化
学生在续写过程中,根据原文的主题思想,对主题进行深化和拓展,可以使续写内容更加具有思想性和深度。续写时要注意主题与情节、人物之间的联系,使主题更加自然地融入整个故事中。在开始续写之前,深入理解原作的主题。The Million Pound Bank Note讲述了一个关于财富、人性、命运和选择的故事。学生要明确这个主题,并思考如何在续写中进一步深化这个主题:可以探讨财富对人性的影响,或者探讨命运与选择之间的关系,使续写内容更加丰富和深入;可以探讨社会中的贫富差距、道德沦丧等问题,使续写内容更加具有时代感和现实意义。在续写中,学生表达自己的观点和见解,对某个主题提出自己的看法,或者对某个事件发表自己的评论,可以使续写内容更加具有个性和思想性。
续写范例:
Over time, Henry became a highly respected figure. His story inspires more people to pursue a meaningful life, pay attention to social welfare, and care for others. In the end, Henry realized that true wealth did not lie in money and material possessions, but in inner satisfaction and caring for others. He told the world through his own story that life is not about pursuing endless wealth and pleasure, but pursuing a meaningful life.
续写的这个故事情节与原文有很大的不同,但符合原文的主题和风格,并且拓展了原文的情節和人物形象。
通过本次教学实践,学生更好地理解了The Million Pound Bank Note的故事情节与人物特点,掌握了读后续写的基本技巧和方法,阅读理解能力和写作表达能力得到了提高。部分学生在续写过程中出现了跑题、语言不流畅等问题,需要进一步加强阅读理解和写作表达的训练。教师可设计更多有针对性的训练任务,加强对学生阅读理解和写作表达的指导,鼓励学生多阅读、多写作,提高学生的阅读理解和写作表达能力。
