Aldo Alvarez, Ambassador of El Salvador to China, Successfully Visited Chongqing萨尔瓦多驻华大使阿尔多·阿尔瓦雷斯成功访渝

Aldo Alvarez, ambassador of El Salvador to China,led a delegation and visited Chongqing from February 1 to 3.On the afternoon of February 2,Zhang Guozhi, Vice Mayor of the Chongqing Municipal Government, met with Ambassador Alvarez and the delegation.

On behalf of the Chongqing Municipal Government, Zhang Guozhi welcomed Ambassador Alvarez to Chongqing and gave an update on Chongqing’s economic and social development.Zhang Guozhi said that bilateral trade between Chongqing and El Salvador has achieved rapid growth in 2022, and there is still huge potential and broad prospects of cooperation between the two sides.Chongqing is willing to further deepen the cooperation with El Salvador in various fields, improve the level of economic and trade cooperation, enhance cultural exchanges,strengthen educational cooperation, and strive to contribute to the long-term, healthy, and stable development of China-El Salvador relations.

Alvarez said that this is his second visit to Chongqing.As El Salvador’s terrain is very similar to Chongqing, every visit reminds him of his hometown.In recent years, China has achieved rapid development, and Chongqing is now becoming a new megacity of China.He hoped that Chongqing will become an important partner of El Salvador in China.2023 marks the fifth anniversary of diplomatic relations between El Salvador and China.It is a great opportunity to promote cooperation between El Salvador and Chongqing in the fields of economy,trade, investment, culture, education, etc., and make greater contributions to the development of bilateral relations.

During the visit to Chongqing, Alvarez and his delegation visited the Residence of Mr.Zhou-Fragrans Garden, walked on Shancheng Lane, inspected SERES Liangjiang Intelligent Factory and Chongqing Haifu Medical Technology Co.,Ltd., and discussed with Yuzhong District Government and Chongqing Coffee Association about future cooperation.In addition, they also visited Dongsheng Village of Liuyin Town in Beibei District to learn about the rural revitalization and development in Chongqing.

Wang Wen, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government, Zhou Yi, Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government, and the Head of the American and Oceanian Affairs Division attended relevant activities.

2月1日至3日，萨尔瓦多驻华大使阿尔多·阿尔瓦雷斯率团来渝访问。2日下午，市政府副市长张国智会见了阿尔瓦雷斯一行。

张国智代表市政府欢迎阿尔瓦雷斯来渝访问，并简要介绍重庆经济社会发展最新情况。张国智表示，2022年重庆与萨尔瓦多的贸易实现了高速增长，双方合作潜力巨大，前景广阔。重庆愿进一步深化与萨尔瓦多各领域合作，提升经贸合作水平，增进人文交流，加强教育合作，努力为推动中萨关系长期健康稳定发展贡献力量。

阿尔瓦雷斯表示，这是他第二次访问重庆，萨尔瓦多的地形和重庆十分相似，每次来到重庆都让他想起家乡。近年来中国实现飞速发展，重庆更是中国新特大城市的“未来”，希望重庆成为萨尔瓦多在华重要合作伙伴。2023年是萨中建交5周年，愿以此为契机，推动萨尔瓦多与重庆在经贸投资、人文、教育等领域合作，为两国关系发展作出更大贡献。

访渝期间，阿尔瓦雷斯一行参观了周公馆、桂园，游览山城巷，考察了赛力斯两江智慧工厂、海扶医疗科技有限公司，并与渝中区政府和重庆市咖啡协会座谈商议合作。此外，还到访北碚区柳荫镇东升村，了解我市乡村振兴发展相关情况。

Chongqing FAO and Tianjin FAO Joining Hands渝津外办架起外事合作之桥

From January 9 to 10, Luan Jianzhang, Director-General of the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Tianjin Committee, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group, and Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Tianjin Municipal Government, led a team to Chongqing to carry out research under the theme Studying and Implementing the Guiding Philosophies of the 20th CPC National Congress, and Further Improving Foreign Affairs Work to Serve Local High-Quality Development.Wang Wen, Director-General of the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Chongqing Committee, Secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group, and Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government, held discussions and exchanged insights with the delegation on strengthening the CPC’s centralized and unified leadership in foreign affairs work, standardizing important foreign affairs activities, and enhancing pragmatic cooperation between Chongqing and Tianjin.

Both sides expressed their hope to improve strategic cooperation in multiple areas, including resource sharing, brand building, think tank construction, and official exchanges to build a bridge of cooperation between Tianjin and Chongqing in foreign affairs and to jointly serve the country’s overall diplomacy and local high-quality development.

1月9日至10日，天津市委外办主任，天津市政府外办党组书记、主任栾建章率队来渝开展“深入学习贯彻党的二十大精神，进一步提升外事工作服务地方高质量发展”专题调研，重庆市委外办主任，重庆市政府外办党组书记、主任王雯与其围绕加强党对外事工作的集中统一领导、规范重要外事活动、加强渝津务实合作等方面进行座谈交流。

双方均表示，希望在资源共享、品牌打造、智库建设、干部交流等各方面加强战略合作，架起津渝外事合作之桥，共同服务国家总体外交和地方高质量发展。

Hong Kong and Macao Members of the Chongqing CPPCC Committee and Specially lnvited Figures Discussing Exchanges and Cooperation Among Chongqing, Hong Kong, and Macao重庆市政协港澳委员及特邀人士热议渝港澳交流合作

On January 16, Zhang Yaxi, Deputy Director-General of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Government,joined the Hong Kong and Macao members of the Chongqing CPPCC Committee and representatives of specially invited figures in a discussion, hearing opinions and suggestions on the exchanges and cooperation among Chongqing,Hong Kong, and Macao, and Chongqing’s economic and social development.The discussion also provided thoughts on developing a New Chongqing based on the 2023 Report on the Work of the Chongqing Municipal Government.

Zhang Yaxi said that Hong Kong and Macao are important for international development.She hoped everyone could continue to help Chongqing grow, play the role of pooling capital and talent, bring more international organizations and businesses to Chongqing, help Chongqing, Hong Kong, and Macao better connect with the rest of the world, and promote all-around exchanges and cooperation between Chongqing, Hong Kong, and Macao.

1月16日，市政府港澳办副主任张娅茜与市政协港澳委员及特邀人士代表座谈交流，听取大家对渝港澳交流合作、重庆经济社会发展的意见建议，并围绕2023年重庆市政府工作报告畅谈发展思路，推进新重庆建设。

张娅茜表示，香港、澳门是国际化的重要窗口，希望大家继续融入重庆发展，充分发挥引资引智作用，助力吸引更多国际组织、商务机构落户重庆，助力渝港澳拼船出海，促进三地全方位交流合作，推动重庆国际化建设、提升国际化水平，实现高水平对外开放。

Video Conference Held Between Chongqing and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on Economic, Trade, Cultural,and Tourism Cooperation重庆市与蒙古乌兰巴托市举行经贸文旅合作视频会

On January 17, Chongqing and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, held a video conference on economic, trade, cultural, and tourism cooperation.Relevant departments and companies of the two cities exchanged views on exploring project cooperation in various aspects, including economy, trade,culture, and tourism.Chongqing and Ulaanbaatar signed the MOU on establishing the sister city relations in May 2022.The two cities have set up systems that work together to make it easier for both sides to communicate with each other.

1月17日，重庆市与蒙古乌兰巴托市经贸文旅合作视频会举行，两市有关部门、企业就探索在经贸、文化旅游等领域开展项目合作交换了意见。此前，重庆与乌兰巴托于2022年5月签署两市建立友好城市关系谅解备忘录，两市分别成立了相应的工作机制，以加强双方的对接交流。

Zaw Linn Oo, Consul-General of Myanmar in Chongqing, Leading a Team to Learn About the lLSTC Development and Operation缅甸驻重庆总领事吕真才一行考察西部陆海新通道建设运营

On January 19, Zaw Linn Oo, Consul-General of Myanmar in Chongqing,led a team to visit the International Logistics Hub in Inland China Exhibition Center and Bishan District to learn about the development and operation of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and discuss issues concerning economic and trade cooperation as well as cultural and peopleto-people exchanges.Zaw Linn Oo said that Myanmar would proactively support and participate in international cooperation as part of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.He also hoped that Chongqing, as the operation center, could leverage its role to deepen exchanges and cooperation between Myanmar and Bishan District and transport more goods from Myanmar to the Chinese market.

1月19日，缅甸驻重庆总领事吕真才一行先后到内陆国际物流枢纽展示中心、璧山区考察，详细了解西部陆海新通道建设与运营情况，商谈经贸合作、人文交流等工作。吕真才表示，缅甸将积极支持和参与西部陆海新通道国际合作，希望通过重庆作为运营中心的引领带动作用，深化与璧山区的交流合作，将更多缅甸商品运送到中国市场。

Memorandum of Cooperation Signed Between the Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone Administration and the British Consulate-General in Chongqing重庆经开区管委会与英国驻重庆总领事馆签署《合作备忘录》

On January 10, the Administration of the Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone (CETZ) had a discussion and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the British Consulate-General in Chongqing.The two sides focused on the “3+2” mode of industrial distribution of the CETZ, which consists of three pillar industries—smart terminals, software and information technology, and the big health industry—each worth over RMB100 billion and two feature industries—automotive electronics and energy saving and environmental protection—each worth over RMB50 billion.Mutually beneficial cooperation will be carried out in green, low-carbon and zero-carbon buildings, smart city development, environmental protection and governance,advanced manufacturing, technology, creative industries, and education.The CETZ will bring cutting-edge ideas and technologies from the UK to help build the Guangyang Bay Smart Innovation Eco-City.This will deepen and widen exchanges and cooperation with the British Consulate-General in Chongqing.

The Second Seminar on Poverty Reduction and Development in SCO Countries Held in Chongqing上合组织国家减贫与发展重庆第二期研修班成功举办

The Second Seminar on Poverty Reduction and Development in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Countries was held in Chongqing from January 10 to 20.Representatives of experts from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection,the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment, and the Development Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan attended the training via video link.They exchanged ideas and learned about the practices of and experience in extreme poverty eradication and rural revitalization in China.They also explored means and measures to alleviate poverty and advance rural modernization in their own country, as well as enhance poverty reduction abilities and sustain the momentum of growth.The First Seminar on Poverty Reduction and Development in SCO Countries was held in Chongqing in June 2022.

1月10日至20日，上合组织国家减贫与发展重庆第二期研修班成功举行。来自塔吉克斯坦农业部，卫生和社会保障部，劳动、移民和就业部以及发展委员会等部委的专家代表，通过网络培训的形式，交流学习中国消除绝对贫困和乡村振兴的做法与经验，探索本国减贫与农村发展现代化的途径与措施，增强减贫能力与持续发展动力。上合组织国家减贫与发展重庆第一期研修班于2022年6月成功举办。

Online Spanish Learning Course Themed “Colombia, Spanish for the World” Completed“哥伦比亚，西语为世界”西班牙语线上学习圆满结课

On January 13, the Embassy of Colombia in Beijing, China, and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government co-hosted the closing ceremony of the online Spanish learning course themed “Colombia, Spanish for the World”, and granted certificates to 18 students from Chongqing who had passed the course.The course, initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia and the Colombian Presidential Agency of International Cooperation (APCColombia), aims to cement the bilateral relationship between Colombia and other countries through linguistic and cultural exchanges.From August to December 2022, 25 public servants in Chongqing attended the course for free,thanks to the coordination of the Embassy of Colombia in Beijing, China, and the Chongqing FAO.

1月13日，哥伦比亚驻华大使馆联合重庆市政府外办举行“哥伦比亚，西语为世界”西班牙语线上学习课程结课仪式，向通过课程的18位重庆学员授予证书。该线上课程由哥伦比亚外交部与总统府国际合作署联合发起，旨在通过语言和文化交流加强同其他国家的双边关系。2022年8月至12月，在哥伦比亚驻华大使馆、重庆市政府外办的协调下，重庆25名公职人员免费参加了哥方组织的西班牙语线上学习课程。

The Philippine Arts and Crafts Exhibition Unveiled in Chongqing菲律宾艺术与手工艺展在重庆举行

1月18日至2月1日，“缤纷山城渝·多彩菲律宾”菲律宾艺术与手工艺展在重庆举办，共展出11位菲律宾艺术家30余件当代艺术作品及50余件菲律宾手工艺艺术品，体现了非物质文化遗产保护、可持续发展与公平贸易的精神，也反映了菲律宾劳动人民所创造出的多元文化。展览由菲律宾驻重庆总领事馆、渝中区政府外办、重庆国际文化交流中心和香港维岸画廊共同主办，系重庆菲律宾艺术文化节的重要活动之一。

From January 18 to February 1, the Philippine Arts and Crafts Exhibition,themed “Warm Chongqing, Colorful Philippines” was unveiled in Chongqing.It featured over 30 contemporary pieces of art and over 50 Philippine crafts by 11 Filipino artists on display.It highlighted the protection of intangible cultural heritage, sustainable development, and a fair-trade spirit and reflected the diverse cultures created by Filipinos.The exhibition, cohosted by the Philippine Consulate-General in Chongqing, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Yuzhong District People’s Government, the Chongqing International Cultural Exchange Center, and the Hong Kong VA Galleries, is a major event of the Philippine Arts and Culture Festival in Chongqing.

Chongqing No.1 Secondary School Forging a Partnership with Trondheim Cathedral School in Norway重庆市第一中学校与挪威特隆赫姆教堂学校建立伙伴关系

On January 6, Chongqing No.1 Secondary School and Trondheim Cathedral School in Norway signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and established a partnership via video link to mark the 15th anniversary of the friendship relations between Chongqing Municipality and Trøndelag County.The friendship relations were forged in June 2007.Since then, the two sides have conducted good cooperation in such fields as economy, trade, culture, education, environmental protection, science, and technology.

1月6日，重庆市第一中学校与挪威特伦德拉格郡特隆赫姆教堂学校以线上形式签署合作备忘录，建立伙伴关系，以庆祝重庆市与挪威特伦德拉格郡缔结友好市郡关系15周年。2007年6月，重庆市与挪威南特伦德拉格郡缔结为友好市郡。多年来，两地在经贸、文化、教育、环保、科技等领域保持着良好的合作关系。
