The most impressive symbol of Chinese culture must be the Spring Festival. It’s not only about the two Chinese characters or a single season, but more about couplets, red packets, and getting together.
I think there’s nothing more enjoyable than lying in front of the TV, with a big bowl of delicious noodles made by Grandma, closely snuggling up(依偎) to each other. Maybe it seems like a task for some of us to have several meals a day with so many uncles, aunts, sisters, brothers and so on.Maybe getting up in the midnight to the temples full of people on such cold weather makes some of us feel bored and unhappy. And maybe the heavy traffic jam which gets you stuck on the road for the whole day makes you annoyed. I once hated them, either. But now, I feel quite happy about all these things, because it’s exactly what the Spring Festival is like.
I like the Spring Festival also because I can meet and talk with the people who love me the most. The move of Chinese people in the Spring Festival is called “Chun Yun”, the largest migration of human that happens every year. I think all of them have the same reason as mine. Most people live away from their parents or other relatives to live a better life, to chase their dreams or for other reasons, whether in the past thousands of years or at the present. Countless poems were written to express the endless homesickness. So it’s easy to imagine how much happiness we have when getting together and telling that everything is all right.
That’s all about the Spring Festival, the best thing I can think of to symbolize the Chinese culture in my mind.
