熙熙攘攘的黃圃三六九墟市,见证了历史的变迁、文化习俗的传承,以及百姓安居乐业的幸福生活。
369 Market is a traditional folk trade custom in Huangpu Town, which is located in the northern part of Zhongshan City.
It is recorded that the origin of 369 Market can be traced back to the late Qing Dynasty. At that time, Huangpu farmers had the habit of growing mulberry cocoons. With the prosperity of mulberry cocoons, Huangpu gradually formed a folk trade market which was held on the 3rd, 6th and 9th of the lunar calendar. As the population increased in Huangpu, the former market was too small to meet the trading need, so 369 Market was relocated many times under the governments support. Now, there are more than 500 stands and over 100 shops in the market. During market periods, more than 20,000 people come to trade in the market, which is bustling with life. The goods sold in the market are all local products of Huangpu with distinct regional characteristics of the Pearl River Delta, ranging from the local food to colorful festival decorations.
In order to better protect it, it was listed in the ninth batch of municipal intangible cultural heritage list of Zhongshan City in 2022. For locals, the lively 369 Market is not only a place where they trade, but also a representative of their rich and peaceful life.
