Abstract It is of great value to integrate the great spirit of Party building into the ideological and political theory course in colleges and universities,which is an important way to realize the mission of educating people in colleges and universities,a powerful means to improve teachers’ quality,and the only way to reform and innovate the ideological and political theory course in colleges and universities. The logical necessity is demonstrated by the agreement between the great spirit of Party building and the goal,content and opportunity of ideological and political education in colleges and universities. For colleges and universities,it is necessary to improve the teaching system,optimize the teaching process and improve the teaching design,so as to promote teachers and students to make a profound exploration and perception of the formation mechanism,connotation structure and the value of the times of the great spirit of Party building. At the same time,when the great spirit of Party building is integrated into ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities,we should pay attention to methods,promote teaching transformation,enrich teaching methods,reform teaching methods,incorporate teaching evaluation and promote teaching integration,so as to achieve the goals of completing teaching achievements,enhancing teaching effectiveness,ensuring teaching needs,improving teaching quality and enriching teaching connotation.

First of all,the purpose of ideological and political education is to cultivate socialist builders and successors. The Communist Party of China is committed to serving the people and contributing to the Chinese nation. Therefore,in order to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,it is necessary to strengthen the energy efficiency of educating people in ideological and political courses in colleges and universities,and cultivate new people who are responsible,conscious and support the Communist Party of China and the socialist system with Chinese characteristics. The great spirit of Party building depicts the true picture of the glorious course of the CPC in the past century,embodies the fighting spirit of the Communists who are not afraid of hardships and dangers,and highlights the precious quality of the Communists who dare to fight,which is helpful to inspire young students to inherit and carry forward the great spirit of Party building,so that their excellent character can flourish and last forever.
Secondly,the ideological and political course is the most direct means for the CPC’s ideas to connect with students,so integrating the great spirit of Party building into ideological and political education in colleges and universities is the most direct means for students to learn the precious spirit of revolutionary predecessors. It is necessary for students to understand the ideal ambition of upholding the truth and resolutely fighting during the founding of the Communist Party of China,the brave spirit of not fearing hardships and sacrifices during the revolutionary period,and the moral ethics of putting people’s interests first and working for the people wholeheartedly since the construction and reform. This helps to stimulate students’ sincerity,let students sincerely inherit and carry forward the spiritual ideas of revolutionary pioneers to continue the red blood,and make students grow into a golden beam that can shoulder the socialist construction and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation[1].
Furthermore,the integration of the great spirit of Party building into ideological and political education is helpful to improve teachers’ quality. Teachers play a key role in teaching activities. As teachers of ideological and political courses,they should have correct character,broad vision,innovative thinking,deep feelings,strict self-discipline spirit and excellent political accomplishment. Because the core of ideological and political courses lies in politics,political attainment is a vital professional accomplishment for college teachers. Incorporating the great spirit of Party building into the teaching content,making the teachers study the theoretical connotation of the great spirit of Party building,and then internalize abstract theories into their hearts,to improve political literacy,strengthen political direction,and promote the synchronous progress of teaching and theory.
Finally,the integration of the great spirit of Party building is a new opportunity to help the reform of ideological and political education in colleges and universities,and it is helpful to promote the joint innovation of ideological and political courses and the theoretical knowledge of the Party. The process of students learning the great spirit of Party building is the experience process of the great contribution made by the Communist Party of China to the people and the glorious course it has gone through in the national construction and national rejuvenation. The great spirit of Party building is a key theory put forward during the celebration of the 100thanniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Its integration broadens the content of "Four Histories" and vigorously excavates the theoretical depth of ideological and political education in colleges and universities,and fully implements the guiding principles of the unity of politics and academic rationality,value and knowledge,and theory and practice required by the "Eight Unifications".
3 Logic of integrating the great spirit of Party building into the ideological and political education of college students
3.1 Agreement of objectivesThe great spirit of Party building contains the value pursuit of the Party,reflects the educational purpose of training socialist builders and successors in colleges and universities,points out the direction for ideological and political courses in colleges and universities to a great extent,and plays the role of political guidance and political propaganda. The integration of the great spirit of Party building into ideological and political courses in colleges and universities should be rooted in the history of the Party. By adding the content of the history of the Party to compulsory courses,the education of the history of the Party should be the top priority of classroom teaching,and the teaching should be more systematic,integrated,hierarchical and focused[2]. Based on the history of the Party,the road of seeking the great spirit of Party building can go further and steadily,and the glorious course and fine moral character of the Party can be highlighted,which further strengthens students’ confidence in the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Nowadays,most college students are the generations born after 2000,growing up in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics. There is no intuitive feeling about the crisis and humiliation,poverty and backwardness in modern China. How to lead students to experience the hardships of changing the game,struggling hard and achieving brilliant achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of China has become an important topic in current ideological and political education,and the great spirit of Party building provides reference and answers for these questions.
3.2 Coupling of contentThe great spirit of Party building is the source of the CPC’s ideological theory,which greatly strengthens the spiritual strength of the CPC. These rich spiritual resources lay a solid foundation for the educatee’s thinking ability,so as to promote colleges and universities to achieve the fundamental educational goal of cultivating people by virtue. "Adhering to the truth and sticking to the dream" embodies the advanced nature of the great spirit of Party building,which is in line with the educational content of training students to strengthen their own beliefs in order to explore knowledge; "staying true to the mission and taking on the mission" highlights the responsibility of the Communists at the practical level,which is in line with the educational content of colleges and universities to improve students’ moral quality and standardize students’ ideological behavior; "not afraid of sacrifice,heroic struggle" shows the struggle of the Party,which is in line with the educational content of colleges and universities to teach students to work hard,not be afraid of hardships and cultivate students’ perseverance; "loyalty to the Party and the people" shows the moral advantages and emotional background of the Party,which is in line with the educational content of cultivating students’ sense of belonging to the Party and the country.
3.3 Proper timingThe great spirit of Party building lasts forever,and it is a spiritual picture interwoven with history and facts. At the key point of the centennial Party celebration,General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the exact content of the great spirit of Party building and emphasized that the great spirit of Party building is the spiritual source of the Communist Party of China. In such a special time and space pattern,contemporary college students actively study the theoretical connotation of the great spirit of Party building,which shows unprecedented real-time nature and effectiveness. The occurrence stage of major events is an effective frame of reference for ideological and political education,which is an important focus for integrating the great spirit of Party building into ideological and political courses in colleges and universities. The great spirit of Party building depicts the spiritual pedigree of the Communists and systematically depicts the spiritual character and ideological connotation of the Party. To carry out ideological and political education in colleges and universities,we must follow the extension of historical context,identify its main spiritual core consistently step by step,and closely follow the main line of red history,so as to make teaching more vivid and both physical and spiritual.

4 Focus of integrating the great spirit of Party building into the teaching of ideological and political courses in colleges and universities
4.1 Improving the teaching system and learning from the formation mechanism of the great spirit of Party buildingThe great spirit of Party building was formed through the unremitting exploration and hard struggle of revolutionary predecessors. Its theoretical core and practical basis are integrated with Marxist theory,which embodies the superiority of Marxist political parties. Its formation mechanism is constructed through the spiritual connotation of Marxism. Integrating the great spirit of Party building into ideological and political courses in colleges and universities needs to pay attention to integrity,systematicness and macroscopic nature,so we should learn from this formation mechanism and infiltrate it into different courses. InBasicPrinciplesofMarxism,it closely follows the characteristics of Marxism paying attention to social practice and summarizing universal laws in practice,and students are required to abstract the internal logic of the generation of great spirit of Party building from subjective thinking and objective world; inIntroductiontoMaoZedongThoughtandTheoreticalSystemofSocialismwithChineseCharacteristics,combining Marxist theory with the practice of Chinese revolution,construction and reform,the theoretical achievements of great spirit of Party building are displayed; inOutlineofModernChineseHistory,we should compare the humiliation suffered by China since the Opium War in modern times with the Chinese people’s unity and indomitable courage to fight against Japan,and deeply understand the historical logic of the formation of the great spirit of Party building[3].
In this way,taking the generating logic of the great spirit of Party building as the root and the historical logic of the great spirit of Party building as the bone,we can ensure the structure and systematicness of its integration into ideological and political courses in colleges and universities,thus promoting the development of ideological and political education in colleges and universities.
4.2 Optimizing the teaching process and closely following the connotation structure of the great spirit of Party building
The great spirit of Party building has rich spiritual connotation and rigorous logical structure,which shows the cognitive belief of the Communists in upholding truth and ideals; it shows the spiritual motivation to realize the initial intention and undertake the mission,the tenacious will to fight bravely without fear of sacrifice,and the emotional background of loyalty to the Party and the people. Faith,responsibility,will and emotion are interconnected,which is the source of strength for Chinese Communists to strengthen their noble qualities and great beliefs.

By accepting the ideological concepts and moral norms in theoretical education,we can form the inner thinking mode and thinking habit,so as to embed it into our own knowledge structure to achieve the purpose of internalization; these knowledge structures can also be externalized into the behavior patterns of the educated,guiding the educated to maintain good quality and pursue noble character in practical life in order to achieve a higher spiritual realm. Through the internalization and externalization of ideological and political education,students’ spiritual strength can be strengthened and their behavior practice can be standardized,thus consolidating the foundation of integrating the great spirit of Party building into ideological and political courses in colleges and universities.
4.3 Improving the teaching design and highlighting the value of the great spirit of Party buildingThe great spirit of Party building adheres to the people’s interests as the center,strengthens the road of Marxism in China to unite as one and fight resolutely,and the Party sticks to its core position in the work of serving the people. These value positions are consistent with the pursuit of personal values by college students. Students are in adolescence,and their concepts are easily impacted by the surrounding environment or ideas,which is the key stage to establish correct views,cultivate ideological sentiments and clarify their life goals. Strengthening ideological and political education at this stage is an important opportunity to closely link the educatee’s personal ideal pursuit with grand themes such as nation,society and country[4]. Therefore,integrating the era value of the great spirit of Party building into the curriculum design will help to increase the overall value of ideological and political courses. In addition,taking the era value of the great spirit of Party building as the guide is conducive to establishing the overall direction of ideological and political education,and every link of teaching is refined. In the teaching design,specific cases,teaching materials and practical activities that can show the value of the great spirit of Party building are included in the teaching plan,which is the only way to realize the integration of the great spirit of Party building into the ideological and political education in colleges and universities.
5 Practical path of integrating the great spirit of Party building into the teaching of ideological and political courses in colleges and universities
5.1 Enhancing the teaching transformation of scientific research achievements of the great spirit of Party buildingGeneral Secretary Xi Jinping quoted Marx’s famous saying at the commemorative meeting of Marx’s birthday: "Once the theory is mastered by the masses,it will become material force." Clarifying the theoretical connotation of the great spirit of Party building is a necessary condition for integrating it into ideological and political courses in colleges and universities,and theoretical knowledge is also an essential cornerstone of practice. At present,the research on the great spirit of Party building in academic circles mainly focuses on the theoretical level,and has achieved certain scientific research results. In order to realize the transformation from scientific theory to teaching practice,teaching research is an essential means.
First,it is necessary to establish a specific plan for the construction of teaching materials. Teaching materials are the concrete embodiment of curriculum planning,and the use of teaching materials is an important link in teaching work. Constantly innovating and perfecting teaching materials with the great theory of Party building spirit is an important way to maintain teaching stability,keep teaching pertinence,improve the effectiveness and quality of moral education and cultivate talents needed by the Party and the country.
Secondly,teachers preach and teach,dispel doubts,inherit knowledge,bring great influence to students in words and deeds,and play an important role in students’ ideological and political education. Guiding teachers to prepare lessons,design courseware,teach in class,evaluate teaching and study teaching with the great spirit of Party building is an important way to well carry out ideological and political teaching. Ideological and political teachers in colleges and universities have different knowledge levels,different professional abilities,and different understanding of key points of knowledge,which will inevitably lead to differences in teachers’ ability to master the great spirit of Party building. Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen teachers’ insight into new knowledge,urge teachers to organize academic discussions internally,and sum up objective laws to give feedback to scientific research by exchanging teaching experience. Accordingly,scientific research achievements will also feed the teaching of ideological and political courses,so that teachers can jointly improve their teaching ability in research and discussion,and efficiently complete the transformation of scientific research achievements of great spirit of Party building in teaching.
5.2 Enriching teaching methods and enhancing teaching effectiveness with the great spirit of Party buildingIf any subject wants to improve the teaching effect,it is necessary to grasp the cognitive laws of students,especially the subjects with abstract and theoretical characteristics. On the basis of taking into account the traditional classroom forms,adding vivid teaching situations and enriching teaching methods are powerful measures to integrate the great spirit of Party building into ideological and political courses.
First of all,we should pay attention to special topic teaching,which has the characteristics of strong integrity,various teaching methods,and equal emphasis on application and flexibility. For example,the great spirit of Party building is placed in the background of the "Four Histories" education vigorously carried out nowadays,and the relationship between Party history and the history of New China,the history of reform and opening up and the history of socialist development is discussed in the form of special topics,so that students can understand the key points of each history and the inheritance and integration between them. Especially in the education of Party history,it clarifies the great contribution made by the Communist Party to the Chinese people,the purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly,and deeply explains the revolutionary pioneers’ spirit of hard work and defying hardships and dangers,so that students can deeply understand the historical significance of upholding the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
Secondly,we should pay attention to practical teaching. Different from theory,practice is a social activity in which people can actively transform the objective world. Compared with pure theoretical teaching,practical teaching emphasizes comprehensiveness,applicability,design and interactivity,which helps students get rid of the learning dilemma of reading rigid books,superficial understanding of theoretical knowledge and inability to appreciate the deep meaning of the great spirit of Party building. Emphasizing theory and deepening the understanding of theoretical knowledge in practice can make students turn written knowledge into reality and abstract knowledge into intuitive knowledge. Theory guides practice,and practice deepens theory,so as to thoroughly understand the great spirit of Party building and finally transform it into inner spiritual power. There are various forms of practical teaching,and teaching modes can be designed flexibly according to teaching needs,such as organizing students to have group discussions,participating in stage plays about revolutionary martyrs,and watching red documentaries or related film and television materials,so that students can strengthen their understanding of the great spirit of Party building in practice.

At the same time,we should give attention to the essence of traditional teaching,keep its merits,and pay attention to the combination of traditional injection education and new teaching methods oriented by experience,heuristics and immersion,so as to meet the individual needs of students of all ages.
First,the teaching of the great spirit of Party building should emphasize the leading role of teachers and clarify the subjectivity of students. Nowadays,there are many new technologies in social media and network,and there are countless ways for students to get in touch with new information. For example,we can encourage students to watch red films on emerging media platforms and issue comments under the guidance of teachers to enhance their sense of participation; when conditions permit,the students are organized to visit Red Army veterans (or their families),visit red scenic spots,visit old revolutionary base areas and observe history museums to enhance the sense of presence and achieve the purpose of experiential teaching.
Second,it is necessary to actively mobilize students’ subjective initiative and guide students to actively seek knowledge and learn by themselves. According to the age stage of college students,we can customize the teaching content that is more in line with teenagers’ interests. Teachers can combine theoretical knowledge with shadow,sound and picture information,and use multimedia courseware to cultivate students’ interest in learning,so as to better inspire students’ cognition of the excellent qualities of revolutionary predecessors and deepen their understanding of the dreams,beliefs and spiritual core adhered to by Chinese Communists in the past 100 years.
Third,it is necessary to encourage students to participate in interactions,drills and practical activities. At present,with the development of virtual reality technology,students can create a real historical environment with the help of virtual reality and read revolutionary stories from the first perspective of historical figures. In addition,students must be organized to shoot historical microfilms,play revolutionary predecessors for excavating the deep emotional activities and mental journey of the characters in the play,so that students can also get a better real experience. It makes the teaching content more vivid and rich by immersion teaching method,so that students can have a more real feeling of the great course of the founding of the Party and a more intuitive understanding of the great spirit of the founding of the Party[6].
5.4 Incorporating teaching evaluation to ensure teaching quality with great spirit of Party buildingThe evaluation of the integration of the great spirit of Party building into teaching in colleges and universities is included in the teaching evaluation of ideological and political courses,which is included in the overall teaching evaluation. In order to ensure the teaching quality after integration of the great spirit of Party building into ideological and political courses in colleges and universities,we should add evaluation indicators in the overall teaching and add targeted evaluation standards.

Secondly,it is necessary to integrate multiple evaluation subjects. The traditional teaching system relies on teachers of various majors,leaders at all levels,supervisors and managers,teaching and research groups,etc.,and the evaluation subjects are mostly concentrated in superior leaders or institutions directly involved in teaching management. On this basis,it is necessary to consider the functional characteristics of various departments in the ideological and political construction,add multiple evaluation subjects,and bring teaching and publicity departments,community activities departments,Party branches,league branches and other departments into the evaluation system. At the same time,students’ voluntary service and social practice activities are also important links in teaching evaluation. In addition,the comprehensive evaluation of teaching and learning evaluation is conducive to improving teaching quality and curriculum construction,is an important channel for two-way information communication and feedback between teachers and students,and is also conducive to promoting both teaching and learning,so as to ensure the effectiveness of integrating the great spirit of Party building into the teaching evaluation of ideological and political courses.
5.5 Promoting the integration of teaching and enriching the teaching connotation with the great spirit of Party buildingTo strengthen ideological and political education in colleges and universities,it is necessary to grasp the core of the great spirit of Party building. As the core leading group of socialist construction with Chinese characteristics,the Communist Party represents the interests of the people and shows rich spiritual connotations in the course of a hundred years of struggle. Since the new-democratic revolution,the Communist Party of China stepped onto the historical stage,and then experienced the socialist revolution and reform and opening up. Until today,the Communist Party has led China into a new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics,which has gone through a hundred years and a bumpy road. Every period of history shows the ideological connotation of the great spirit of Party building from different angles[7]. First of all,based on the development of the Party in the past century,constructing the historical context with four stages as the framework,focusing on explaining the glorious course of the CPC’s unremitting struggle,the purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly and the belief of keeping the mission in mind,will help students understand the value of the Party’s struggle,development and progress,and thus have a deeper understanding of the great spirit of Party building.
In this way,it not only broadens students’ horizons,but also helps educators to improve their organizational leadership and work ability,so that the fine tradition contained in the great spirit of Party building can be inherited and carried forward. Secondly,it is necessary to understand the connotation of the great spirit of Party building,and we must grasp specific cases,such as flood fighting in 1998,emergency rescue and disaster relief in Tangshan earthquake and Wenchuan earthquake,and recent national anti-epidemic action,etc.The advanced figures,Party history stories and real-time information containing the elements of great spirit of Party building are used as concrete interpretations,so that the educated people can understand the deep logic behind them,absorb successful experience,accept spiritual enlightenment,understand the moral sentiments of the Party and the advantages of the masses,and firmly believe in the historical inevitability of the Communist Party leading China.
At present,there is still room for improvement in the integration of the great spirit of Party building in China’s ideological and political education,teaching methods need to be improved,teachers’ literacy needs to be improved,and the teaching research on the great spirit of Party building is not profound enough. These are all problems that need to be solved in the future ideological and political teaching. However,as long as we persist in implementing the theoretical core of the great spirit of Party building,pay attention to promoting teaching transformation,enriching teaching methods,reforming teaching methods,incorporating teaching evaluation and promoting teaching integration on the premise of grasping the core essence of the great spirit of Party building,we can implement the integration of the great spirit of Party building into ideological and political courses in colleges and universities and maintain its prolonged vitality.
