The Development Status and Thinking of "Three Jade and One Viewing Stone" in Luanchuan County

"Three jade and one viewing stone" refers to Luanchuan County, the only hometown of viewing stones in Henan Province.

Luanchuan is rich in stone appreciation resources and types. It not only have lotus stone, but also plum blossom stone, Heluo jade, topaz, and Yiyuan jade. Yiyuan jade is a new kind of viewing stone discovered in recent ten years. It is colorful, smooth and transparent. It has the quality of jade and contains the characteristics of emerald. It is praised as "Yiyuan jade —Chinese Emerald" by the Viewing Stone Association of China. At present, the development of Yiyuan Jade also encounters great difficulties. A series of problems, such as the scarcity of resources, the technicality of development, the importance of environmental protection, and the demand of the market, restrict the pace of development.

The scarcity of resources is an inevitable fact. In order to make better use of the existing resource space,we have to seek a way out from the perspective of development, improve the technical content and reduce waste.We should adopt diversification in terms of varieties and styles, and the carvings, screens, seals,viewing stone should be developed in an orderly manner according to the market potential. In addition to offline display, new media platforms such as webcast, Tiktok video and wechat should be used for publicity and promotion.

At present, the national viewing stone market is in a depressed state. When summarizing the work of 2021, the Viewing Stone Association of China, in combination with the domestic and international situation and the general tone of the central economic work conference, and the triple pressures of demand contraction, supply shock, and expected weakening in China's economic development, pointed out: (1) The development of viewing stone resources is insufficient, especially the development of extension products is lack of scientific and technological support and design innovation; (2) Shrinking demand is also a major problem faced by the stone appreciation industry; (3) As a National Association,Viewing Stone Association of China needs to be more closely linked with regional associations; (4) The construction of talent team urgently needs to cultivate young people; (5) Multicultural integration needs to be further strengthened; (6) Expectations are unpredictable, so we should face them positively.

Only if we join hands, size up the situation and aim at the direction, we will be able to get out of the dilemma and usher in a brilliant tomorrow!
