My journey to fluent English
My journey to fluent English is always filled with frustration and satisfaction. Inspired by my father, I took up English learning at 7 by listening to the Westlife's songs and reading the songs' lyrics. When turning 13, I started reading science fiction books which were written in English. Currently I study mathematics and most of the books I use are in English. Thanks to my father's encouragement and my hard work, I have been breaking barriers and getting into a new world.
I think the best way to learn English well is to do more listening, more reading and more speaking. Whenever it is, you should learn English with pleasure.

My most unforgettable experience
Among many experiences, my most unforgettable one is to learn to write a scratch paper in writing English essays.
This job was an entirely new challenge because I tended to beat about the bush when writing an essay before I was a senior high student. I had to organize my thoughts carefully and patiently. With a ton of practice, I was eventually able to complete a decent readable article.
Writing from the heart rather thanwriting to pass is of great importance. I am sure that nothing is impossible as long as you put your heart into it.

Good morning, dear teacher and classmates. Today I'd like to introduce my hero to you. Actually, my hero is just a nobody named Chris Johnson. However, he always moves me in a realistic but powerful way. Despite the fact that he was diagnosed with an incurable cancer in 2019, he would never allow it to get in the way. He tries all means to reach his goal to take part in the London Marathon. Although he assumes his health is worsening, he still keeps exercising, which shows that he would never put himself at the mercy of fate. I hope his dream will eventually come true.
That's all. Thanks for your listening.

Breathing smoothly, growing healthily
Breathing is of great importance to us. A healthy person breathes naturally and easily every minute of the day. When breathing in, we tighten the diaphragm with lungs expanding. When breathing out, we relax the diaphragm with air pushed out. Exchanging oxygen with carbon dioxide, deep breathing is a good way to reduce stress and relax, which helps our body greatly.

Paragraph 1:
In the middle of the night, Ramona awoke to a noise. Ramona turned on the light and jumped out of bed. Her face clouded with anger. It turned out that the cat accidentally bumped the jack-o'- lantern to the floor while catching mice. It was broken. Looking at her beloved jack- o,-lantern lying on the floor with the candle in it going out, Ramona began to cry, with tears rolling down her cheeks. Mr Quimby was also woken up, got up tocomfort Ramona and helped her take the jack-o'-lantern to the table.
Paragraph 2:
On the table their jack-o7-lantern no longer had a whole face. Ramona felt like she was floating in an ocean of sadness. Dad decided to carve the pumpkin again. He picked up the knife and carved along the incomplete face of the pumpkin. The incomplete face became funnier, and the lantern laughed more brightly. Dad said, “Ramona, don't cry. Look at your pumpkin lantern. It's alive again.”Ramona dried her tears and smiled with greater satisfaction. It looked as if her smile had lit up the whole room.

Dear Li Ping,
I'm sorry to learn that you feel frustrated after going abroad for study. Infact, it's a common case when you encounter culture shock because of different language surroundings. And it's natural to feel inadaptable in a new environment.
I suggest that you should take part in various after-class clubs to communicate with more foreign classmates. Therefore, you can have a good command of their social customs and make more friends. Besides, it's a good option to make yourself immersed in local cultural activities by improving your language skills.
I hope my suggestions will be helpful to you.
Yours,
Li Hua

Dear Jack,
Knowing that you often stay up very late studying these days, I'm writing to persuade you to give up the bad habit.
Staying up late at night is harmful to your health. It may cause headaches and even make you ill. What's more, you may find it difficult to concentrate on your studies at school. As a result, you'll soon fall behind with your school work. Therefore, you should make a good daily study plan. Finish your daily work on time and don't leave it until night.
I hope you'll consider my suggestions.
Yours,
Li Hua

Paragraph 1:
Sensing our helplessness, Viraaz offered to put us up in their accommodation for the night. “It'll be crowded and small but I hope you won't mind,”he said. I was surprised at his generosity. Necessity forced us to agree and we set off on foot towards the guesthouse. Upon our arrival, Viraaz's family worked tirelessly with supplies to make us feel at home—food was quickly heated and shared and blankets were brought out for us. The guesthouse was filled to three times its usual capacity, but everyone managed.
Paragraph 2:
Our friendship has since continued for decades. We phoned each other, travelled together several times and got together regularly. Viraaz even came to live with us in Ahmedabad when he shifted to the city. We frequently went fishing together on the weekend. It was quite a wonder that this rich friendship between families started with just a halfeaten packet of biscuits at a train station. We've been happy about it.
